Taihu Mountain National Forest Park

Taihu Mountain National Forest Park is located in TONGZHA Town, Hanshan County, Anhui Province. It has sandstone, limestone and peak forest landforms. There are 20 peaks, including Zhongshan, Gushan, Muyu and waishan. The main peak of Taihu mountain is 450 meters above sea level.

According to Hanshan county annals, Taihu mountain used to be surrounded by lakes, and the mountain got its name from the lake.

Taihu Mountain National Forest Park is divided into Taihu temple and situ two scenic spots. It is a scenic spot with forest landscape as the main body and natural landscape and cultural landscape as well.

In February 2020, the scenic spot implemented a free and open policy for medical workers across the country in order to pay tribute to the medical workers struggling in the front line of anti epidemic.

Location context

Taihu Mountain National Forest Park is located in the southwest of Hanshan County, Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province. It is 12 kilometers long from east to west and 3 kilometers wide from north to south. It starts from guishankou in the East and ends at Dongguan in the West. It is bounded by foothills in the north and south, and is adjacent to Lintou, taochang and TONGZHA.

Taihu Mountain National Forest Park is 84 km away from Hefei City, 97 km away from Maanshan City, 44 km away from Wuhu City and 33 km away from Hanshan county.

Geology and geomorphology

Taihu Mountain National Forest Park is a hilly area along the Yangtze River, and structurally belongs to the east of Huaiyang shield. The main ridge is northeast southwest, with the highest peak of Mt. Taihu at 441.1 meters. Except that the slope in some sections is more than 40 degrees, the average slope is generally between 20 and 30 degrees, and the lower part of the low mountain is the hillock extending from the foothills, and the slope is usually no more than 5 degrees. Paleozoic sandstones and limestones are the main rocks of the mountain, and argillaceous sandstones, quartz sandstones, argillaceous shellstones and limestones alternate with each other.

Climatic characteristics

Taihu Mountain National Forest Park is a subtropical monsoon climate zone, which is the transition zone from the hilly and mild area of Jianghuai River to the humid and hot area along the river. It has mild climate, four distinct seasons, moderate rainfall, long sunshine and short frost free period.

There are more than 300 species of woody plants in more than 70 families and more than 500 species of medicinal plants in Taihu Mountain National Forest Park. The main plants are Magnolia grandiflora, Cinnamomum camphora, holly, Magnolia, gingko, Tongqian, Tilia, Camptotheca acuminata, elm, pumila, Luan, Albizia julibrissin, Sophora japonica, Robinia pseudoacacia, Dalbergia, Pistacia chinensis, Liquidambar formosana, Acer truncatum, eucommia, Castanea mollissima, Quercus, Cunninghamia lanceolata, Pinus massoniana, Torreya grandis, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Cryptomeria fortunei, Ligustrum lucidum, hawthorn and Spiraea The results showed that the total effective rates of the three herbs were as follows: 1.

Animal resources

There are more than 100 species of wild animals in Taihu Mountain National Forest Park. Among them, there are more than 50 species of birds, including woodpecker, grey magpie, myna, owl, oriole, turtledove, etc.; mammals mainly include otter, roe, hedgehog, fox, weasel; snakes include yellow tip snake, black tip snake, abdominal snake, bamboo leaf green, etc.

Scenic spots

Lingjiatan site

Lingjiatan site is located in Lingjiatan village, covering an area of about 1.6 million square meters. It is a large settlement site of late Neolithic age. In 2001, it was approved by the State Council as a state key cultural relics protection unit.

Taihu Temple

Taihu temple, also known as Puming temple, was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. The temple seat faces south, with Tianwang hall in front, Daxiong hall in the middle, and zushi hall behind. It is one of the key temples at the provincial level and a cultural relic protection unit at the county level.

Development and construction

In 1992, with the approval of the Ministry of forestry, Taihu Mountain National Forest Park was established.

In 1998, it was a civilized unit at the county level.

In 2000, it was rated as AA scenic spot.

In 2001, it was rated as the advanced unit of county forestry system.

Recommended transportation routes: ① from Ma'anshan, from Hexian county to Hanshan, or directly from ma'anshan-wuhu line to Hewu expressway, and then to Hanshan through the exit of Guanzhen; from Hefei, from hechao-wuhu Expressway to the exit of Hanshan Guanzhen road.

② Starting from Hanshan County, drive 1.2km due south along Huanfeng Road, turn right to Meiyuan road; drive 810m along Meiyuan Road, turn left to S226; drive 24.9km along S226, pass about 140m to Tongzhuang on the left, then turn right to Taihu Mountain National Forest Park.

Free policy

In February 2020, in order to pay tribute to the medical workers struggling in the front line of anti epidemic, the scenic spot will resume business from the end of the epidemic to December 31, 2020. The national medical workers can visit the scenic spots free of admission by virtue of the doctor's license, doctor's qualification certificate, nurse / nurse's qualification certificate and other valid certificates.
