Liang Sicheng memorial hall is located in the middle of the east wall belt park, covering an area of 1210 square meters. It is a special memorial hall in memory of Mr. Liang Sicheng.

Liang Sicheng, born in Xinhui County, Guangdong Province, is a famous architect and educator in China. He was born in Japan and studied in the United States, and he devoted his whole life to the construction of his motherland.

Mr. Liang Sicheng has a deep relationship with Datong. The reason why he built his memorial in Datong is that Liang Sicheng and others came to Datong in the 1930s to investigate ancient buildings, leaving precious surveying and mapping manuscripts for Datong. Today's Datong ancient city protection and restoration project depends on these detailed words and maps; secondly, today's Datong city development concept of "one axis and two cities" is inspired by the "Liang Chen plan", which provides historical and archaeological basis for the protection and revitalization of Datong cultural city.

The exhibition theme of Liang Sicheng memorial hall is "master · Datong". There are four exhibition halls in total, which are a generation of great masters, worthy of mountains and rivers, Datong investigation and consolation of forefathers. It introduces Mr. Liang's life in detail with a large number of words, pictures, books and video materials, especially fully shows the history of Mr. Liang's investigation of ancient buildings in Datong, and his many albums are very precious. Here, we can also feel the outstanding contributions made by Mr. Liang's wife, Ms. Lin Huiyin, to the protection of Chinese ancient buildings, her personality charm and legendary life.

Introduction to scenic spots

Liang Sicheng memorial hall is located at the foot of the east wall of Datong City. It is the only underground antique courtyard in China. What is exposed on the ground are the green tiles, dragon shaped kisses and ridged beasts on the roof of the building. The layout of the courtyard is well arranged. On the plaque under the painted eaves of the main entrance of the memorial hall, there are several characters inscribed "Liang Sicheng Memorial Hall". It was written by Luo Zhewen, Liang Sicheng's disciple and famous ancient architect.
