Mingshan Temple

Mingshan temple is also known as Hutou temple. It is located on the top of Hutou mountain in Minle village, Dingxin Township, Anyue County, Sichuan Province. There are many Buddha statues on the cliff.

Most of them are well preserved. There are 63 cliff statues here. A single statue has 34 bodies. There are 29 inscriptions in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The total length of the statue is 350 meters, and it is magnificent. The stone statues are tall, of which 8 are 5-7 meters high, and 50 are 1-4 meters high. All of them are carved with statues, or Buddha, or Bodhisattva, King Kong, or warrior. Most Buddhists and Bodhisattvas are kind-hearted, peaceful, and the decoration of their crowns are the same. King Kong and Rex show their teeth and are murderous. Guanyin, dashizhi and Manjusri Bodhisattvas are 5-8 meters high. Guanyin Bodhisattva's left hand stretches forward and holds the gauze towel flat; dashizhi Bodhisattva's left hand bends inward and holds the thick Sutra scroll flat with his five fingers together; Manjusri Bodhisattva's left hand holds the Sutra book for 1.5 meters, and the weight of the book and hand is thousands of Jin. After thousands of years, it is all supported by the 2.2-meter-high hanging cassock. Using the combination of mechanics and aesthetics, the shape is very ingenious. The statues in the shrine on the back wall are semicircular in shape, and the sculptures are all 12 Dharma protectors 1.8 meters high. All of them have distinctive armor. Their hands are either carrying nine swords or holding a pestle. Their heads are either loud and fierce, or their eyes are angry and their necks are twisted. Some of them see their hearts through laparotomy, and some of them hold their fists to calm their spirits. They are fierce and fierce. They sincerely seek the Dharma field and reverently defend the Buddhists.
