Dawei meeting monument, located at the north foot of Jiajin mountain in the east of Xiaojin County, Sichuan Province, is the meeting place of the first Red Army and the Fourth Red Army during the long march.

The story of the long march

On the afternoon of June 12, 1935, the 4th regiment of the 2nd division of the 1st red front army, led by Wang Kaixiang, head of the 1st red front army, and Yang Chengwu, political commissar, successfully crossed jiajinshan and met Dawei, a member of the 74th regiment of the 25th red front army, at the foot of jiajinshan. On the evening of the 14th, the General Political Department of the Military Commission held a victory meeting in Davey. Zhou Enlai presided over the meeting. Mao Zedong and Zhu De delivered important speeches. Cadres and soldiers sang "the song of the meeting of the two main forces" written by Lu Dingyi. The party lasted into the night. Many soldiers fell ill when they crossed Jiajin mountain. They got recuperation and treatment in Davey and recovered.

Monument

Today, there is still a small wooden bridge on the wori River 300 meters east of the old street in Dawei township. Built in the Republic of China, the 13.8-meter-long and 2.8-meter-wide wooden bridge is the Dawei meeting bridge.

1、 The successful meeting of the four front armies realized a new historic turning point in China's revolutionary war. In memory of the history of the Red Army, the Dawei bridge, which met at that time, has been named Dawei meeting bridge and has been inscribed on a monument. The upper end of the monument is in the shape of four sided columns, and the four sides of the base have relief sculptures of crossing Jiajin mountain and meeting Shengli.
