Tunba Township

Tunba Township in Nimu county is the hometown of zatunmi Sambu, the founder of Tibetan language, and also the professional production township of Tibetan incense in the whole region,. At the beginning of 2004, Lhasa city listed tunba township as the tourism and cultural development protection zone of Lhasa City, which is located in the core area of "one point, two wings, four auxiliary areas" of Lhasa Tourism Development Planning. The total population is 2722 (2017).

On October 14, 2016, it was jointly recognized as the first batch of small towns with Chinese characteristics by the national development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of housing and urban rural development.
