Longtan Park

Longtan Park is located in Dongcheng District of Beijing (former Chongwen District of Beijing) opposite to Longtan Beili community. It is a national 4A tourist park. Covering an area of 49.2 hectares, Longtan Park is the main place for leisure, entertainment and fitness of most residents in Nancheng. At the same time, the annual temple fair during the Lunar New Year is also one of the four major temple fairs in Beijing.

About the park

Longtan Park is located in the second ring road in the southeast of Beijing, on the southeast side of Guangming Bridge. It was built in 1952. The total area is 49.2 hectares and the water surface area is 19.47 hectares. It is named Longtan Lake because of its head and tail. Beautiful landscape and rich cultural connotation make it a tourist attraction.

Longtan Park has carried out several large-scale renovation construction, including pavilions, pavilions, steps, lakeshore, willows, mulberry and locust trees, and built Longtan, Longzi stone forest, Longmen, Longyin Pavilion, Wanliu hall, Liantang Huayu and central island. With beautiful scenery and pleasant scenery, Longqiao, Longting and Longmen are close to the mountain and water, and the styles of Longbai, Longzao and Longhuai are quite different. It is a new urban garden integrating northern classical architecture and modern gardening art, highlighting the theme of Chinese "dragon" culture.

Located in the southeast of Chongwen District, it covers a total area of 118 hectares, including 300000 square meters of water area and 3700 meters of winding lakeshore, which is made of natural stone and regular stone section. There are also 10 plant shaped dragons about 20 meters long and two flower shaped dragons.

The stone arch bridge, shuangting bridge and Longtan waterfall divide the lake into four small islands, four peninsulas, three shoals, one canyon and six bridgehead green spaces. People can go boating in the lake, surrounded by pavilions, lush vegetation, there are many "dragon" as the theme of the new scenic area, including Longyin Pavilion scenic area, Longtan scenic area, Longzi Stone Forest Scenic Area, Longmen scenic area and Liantang Huayu scenic area.

In the northwest of the park, there is the temple of yuan Chonghuan, the national hero of the late Ming Dynasty. In the park, there are the portraits of yuan Chonghuan, some stone carvings and the elegiac manuscripts of Kang Youwei and others. In the south of the park, there is the children's activity center of Chongwen District, covering an area of 17 mu. A number of unique and elegant classical garden buildings make Longtan Park one of the elegant modern garden parks in Beijing.

Scenic spot recommendation

Longtan scenic spot

It's in the north of the park. The towering Longshan mountain is built in the water. There are 14 different mountains. The waterfall falls down from the main peak. From a distance, it looks like a huge stone bonsai.

Liantang Huayu scenic spot

Located in the southeast of the park, it adopts the southern gardening method. A 40 meter long corridor bridge connects the two islands and cuts out a piece of water like a pond. In the pond, the lotus is fragrant, the reed is swaying, and the fish are swimming.

Central Island Scenic Spot

Located in the center of the park lake, the island is surrounded by water on all sides, and connected to the outside by Shuangxing bridge, Longji bridge and Yulong bridge on the East, North and west sides respectively. It has become a cultural activity place for entertainment and leisure of the surrounding people.

Longyin Pavilion Scenic Area

Located in the southwest of the park, surrounded by water, it is the largest group of wooden buildings in the park, covering an area of more than 2800 square meters.

Wanliutang scenic spot

Located in the northeast of the park, a large number of weeping willows, Liliu, xueliu, Yinya willow, Mantou willow, Jinsi weeping willow are planted along both sides of the lake in the scenic area, forming the scene of "ten thousand willows".

Longzi Stone Forest Scenic Spot

Located in the east of the park, it is built around Wanqing mountain. The whole stone forest uses more than 150 pieces of stone, more than 2000 tons.

In 1999, bungee jumping was added to Longtan Lake Park, and there was one item that no one else had - bungee bombers. It is composed of three 40 meter high mast arranged in a triangle, which can be attended by three people at the same time. They are tied side by side with their back facing down. Their feet are connected with an independent mast by a steel cable. The winch tightens the steel cable, and they are lifted to the height of 40 meters. When the cable is released, they dive head down to the ground. When they feel that they are about to kiss the earth from the air, they are pulled by the cables fixed on the other two masts and rush to the opposite sky. This repeated many times, let them experience weightlessness and nearly hit the ground feeling.

Spring Festival Longtan Temple Fair has been held since 1984. It has become a traditional large-scale mass cultural activity during the Spring Festival in Beijing. It is also a cultural brand that Dongcheng District is proud of. It has a wide influence in China and a certain popularity abroad.

Shi Chuanxiang Memorial Hall

October 26, 2009 is the 50th anniversary of Liu Shaoqi's meeting with Shi Chuanxiang, a dung digger. Shi Chuanxiang memorial hall, covering an area of nearly 800 square meters, officially opened in Longtan Park for free.

Longtan Park Ice Rink

Brief introduction: the ice rink is located in the north of cultural square of central island of Longtan Park. You can see the fence surrounded by colored flags on the ice when you enter the north gate of the park.
