Park overview

There is a statue of Guanyin on the artificial island opposite the end of the reclamation area. The park has a beautiful environment, full of palm trees and shrubs. On one side of the park, there is a music fountain with a variety of water column shapes and combinations; on the other side, there is a lotus pond arch bridge, with clear water, ducks and Koi playing in the water, which is a scene of leisurely enjoyment with people.

Historical evolution

Song Yusheng Park was built in memory of Dr. Song Yusheng, a famous Portuguese native of Macao. Song Yusheng park is designed by Portuguese designer Francesco Caldeira Cabral. It is a recreational park with Portuguese characteristics. Located in Song Yusheng square, it got its name. On October 17, 1996, the park was officially opened by Australian Governor Wei Qili.

In 2016, in order to further improve the quality of the facilities in the park, the Civil Affairs Department of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) started to carry out a partial reconstruction project in late November 2016. The relevant work has been completed and the facilities have been put into use again. The project includes the replacement of all facilities and ground rubber in the children's recreation area, the renewal of all stone chairs along the edge of the park, the replacement of 75 camphor chairs in the central shady seat area and the replanting of 15000 plants. It has been completed and reopened to the public.

Songyusheng park is located in songyusheng square, the new port of Macao Peninsula, covering a total area of 23000 square meters. At one end of the park, you can see the sea view of Macao and Guanyin lotus garden, a famous tourist attraction; at the other end, you can see Xianxian park.
