The North fortress of dongjiguanshan is an important fortress with both functions and defense, which was built in January 1900 after the tsarist Russia occupied Lushun in March 1898. It is one of the important battlefields in the war between Japan and Russia.

It includes four scenic spots: dongjiguanshan North fortress, Russo Japanese War exhibition hall, Wangtai fort and Erlongshan fortress.

It was built in Russia in January 1900 and made of concrete and pebbles. The outer part is covered with 2 meters thick sandbags and soil; the inner structure is complex, which is composed of headquarters, soldiers' dormitory, ammunition depot, secret castle, side defense secret castle, secret passage, gun position, mine way, stairwell, etc. The fortress is irregular pentagonal, 496 meters in circumference and 9900 square meters in area. Around the fort, a 6-meter-deep and 8-meter-wide moat was dug, and a high-voltage power grid was set up on the hillside outside the moat. During the Russo Japanese war in 1904, more than 900 people were killed and injured in order to attack the fort.

It not only preserves a relatively complete war site, but also has the only newly-built exhibition hall of the Russo Japanese war in China, in which explanations, physical displays and other forms are used to reveal the crimes of imperialist aggression against China with rich and detailed information.

Wangtai fort is the last battlefield for Japan and Russia to fight for Lushun. Because of the two remnants of Russian artillery left on the mountain, they were called "two guns" by the local people. These two guns were cast in 1899 by the obhoff steel works in Petersburg, Russia, with a range of about 10 kilometers. On the new year's day of 1905, the Japanese army occupied Wangtai fort and declared the end of the Japanese Russian land war in Lushun.

Erlongshan fort was built by the Qing government before the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, which experienced the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895 and the Japanese Russian war. In 1894, in the Lushun defense war of Sino Japanese Sino Japanese War of 1894, Jiang Guiti, the commander of the Qing army, led four battalions to defend against Japanese invasion, which made him famous in history. During the Russo Japanese war in 1904, the Russian army expanded the area of the fort to 30000 square meters, equipped with 50 guns, and stationed by a strengthened Russian battalion. Japan and Russia had a fierce battle here for two months, and finally the Japanese army conquered the fort.

There is no bus in dongjiguan mountain scenic area, and the scenic spots in the scenic area are also scattered and far apart. It is recommended to charter a bus. Cars can be driven directly to the scenic area, but there is a toll of 10 yuan per car, which is paid by tourists.
