Liaohe Park

Liaohe park is the only waterfront belt park in Yingkou City. Located in the middle section of Liaohe Street, it gets its name because it is adjacent to Daliaohe River in the north. It was founded in 1964. In 1981, the area was expanded from 40000 square meters to 182000 square meters, including the activity center for veteran cadres, workers, sculptures and mushroom Pavilion.

In 1997, the municipal government invested 8.68 million yuan to move the east section of the original Yingkou theater, expanded Liaohe park by 14500 square meters, and built a high-grade cultural square. In 1998, the municipal government invested more than 2 million yuan to improve the expansion project, mainly to transform the old park, using European architectural style, 975 meters of railings, 450 meters of revetment renovation, 7152 meters of mushroom stones and edge stones replacement, 9653 square meters of roads in the park, 9372 square meters of color road boards replacement, 1072 square meters of lawn planting, 71 new street lamps renewal A number of seats and fruit crates were bought. In 1999, the wall of the former municipal government and the entrance and shed of the three people's defense projects in the hospital were demolished, and a 2400 square meter square was built, with 1500 square meters of bricks, 900 square meters of grass and flowers, a group of sculptures and a sign of "Liaohe Park". In 2000, a new "century dragon" sculpture was built, which means: looking forward to the new century, the dragon will take off, the Pearl will be dazzling, the future will be bright, the torch will be high, the head will be high, and the new mileage will be crossed. In 2002, the sports and leisure area was rebuilt. A large area of activity ground was paved with colored track boards, and 100 sets of various sports and fitness equipment were placed for free use by the public. At the same time, Liaohe style garden will be expanded, with plant gardening as the main part, and a large number of flowers and trees will be planted to highlight ecological benefits. By the end of 2005, Liaohe park had a total length of 2600 meters and a total area of 146000 square meters. From east to west, there are four scenic spots: Cultural Square, sports and leisure, Central Park and Liaohe River style.
