Shexian revolutionary martyrs cemetery is located in Shexian County, Handan City, Hebei Province. The cemetery moved 232 martyrs who died in four martyrs' tombs during the Anti Japanese War to the cemetery. On the 70th anniversary of the 129th division's entry into Shexian and the 65th anniversary of the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Shexian decided to move all the martyrs who were scattered in the territory during the Anti Japanese War to Shexian martyrs' cemetery. Shexian is an old revolutionary base area. During the Anti Japanese War, the 129th division led by the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries, such as Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping, fought and lived here for six years, commanding and participating in more than 31000 battles. The Taihang army and people made great contributions and sacrifices. Only the 129th division's generals above regimental level sacrificed more than 220, and the number of Shexian martyrs sacrificed in the battlefield reached 1735 First name. Due to the limited conditions at that time, the remains of the martyrs were also scattered in all villages of the county. In 2003, Shexian county built a high standard cemetery for revolutionary martyrs beside jiangjunling where Liu Bocheng, Xu Qianqian, Li Da, Huang Zhen and other veteran generals were buried, and 139 martyrs' remains were successively placed. However, there are still some remains of martyrs scattered in the countryside, which is very inconvenient to manage and pay homage to.

According to the notice of the Ministry of Civil Affairs on announcing the Sixth Batch of national Martyrs Memorial facilities (MF [2016] No. 161), on September 20, 2016, with the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Civil Affairs announced the list of 96 new national Martyrs Memorial facilities in the Sixth Batch, and the martyrs cemetery in Shexian County, Hebei Province was included in the list.
