Wang Nao Village

Wangnao (n á o) village is a famous historical and cultural village in China. It is located in the southwest of Shahe City, Xingtai City, Hebei Province, on the east foot of Taihang Mountain. It is surrounded by mountains on all sides. The terrain is hidden, the environment is beautiful, and the scenery is charming. In the southwest of the village, there are beautiful Jiguan mountain and Hongfeng mountain. In spring, the mountain flowers are brilliant, flying in summer, red maple everywhere in autumn, and snow covered in winter. Wangnau village is famous for its ancient stone buildings. Its architectural style is integrated with the north and south. It is one of the best preserved ancient architectural communities in China.

In 2013, it was listed in the second batch of traditional villages in China. On July 28, 2019, it will be included in the list of the first batch of key Rural Tourism Villages in China.

Ancient stone building complex

An old house in the village has seven courtyards (from one gate, seven courtyards can be connected). There are eight gates in the East, West, north, South, up and down, left and right. Outside the gate, there are mills, wells, cattle and sheep pens, which is a bit similar to the Wangs' courtyard in Shanxi and Qiao's courtyard in Qi county.

In addition, there are three courtyards and four courtyards in the village, with buildings and ears.

Defense function

According to the villagers, the whole village is like a labyrinth, with secret cellars built in individual courtyards and ear chambers built on the high-lying stone buildings to monitor the movement around the village. Once the enemy attacks, they will move safely in the shortest time. Wang Sanqiu, a former vice mayor of Shahe City, said that Wang Nao village had never been looted in hundreds of years.

Walking in the streets of wangnao village and looking up at these stone buildings, it is more like castles. It may be that the ancestor of Wang's family was originally from Sichuan. Besides the majestic, these stone buildings all vaguely reveal the beautiful characteristics of southern folk houses. The artistic and historical value of Wang Nao's ancient architectural complex needs to be further investigated and demonstrated by cultural relic experts and ancient architectural experts.

Old revolutionary base areas

Wangnao village is an old revolutionary base area, anti Japanese holy land, Eighth Route Army base, anti Japanese county government of Shahe County, anti Japanese Independent battalion of Shahe County, and anti Japanese university. It has cultivated a large number of Anti Japanese soldiers.

The revolutionaries of the older generation Zhu De, Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping, Li Desheng and Yang Xiufeng have lived in wangnao village for many times. After the death of general fan Zixia, his remains have been in wangnao village for more than a month. The people of wangnao village raised the Anti Japanese soldiers. They fought with blood and dyed the land red with blood.

In the Anti Japanese War and the liberation war, more than 60 people joined the army and 14 people died bravely. Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping personally awarded plaques for meritorious service.
