Huliuhe reservoir

Huliuhe reservoir is located at the foot of Nanshan in the upstream of Huliuhe River, 12 kilometers south of Yuxian city. It was built in the early 1970s. The dam is 2724 meters long and can store 87 million cubic meters of water, cultivate 10000 mu of water and irrigate 60000 mu of farmland. In recent years, Huliuhe reservoir has been developed into a water sightseeing park, which is a good place to get rid of the noisy and pure mood. Tourists can take boats, yachts and sampans to roam freely in the lake, enjoy the scenery of the lake and the mountains, and also fish leisurely and self-cultivation. There are shrimp, crab and snail in Huliuhe reservoir.

Huliuhe reservoir

Huliuhe reservoir is a medium-sized water control project in the middle and upper reaches of Huliuhe River, a branch of Yongding River in Haihe River Basin. It was built in 1970s. The main task of the reservoir is flood control combined with irrigation. Since 2004, water has been continuously supplied to Beijing, providing water source guarantee for production and living in Beijing.

Brief introduction of the project

Huliuhe reservoir is a medium-sized water control project in the middle and upper reaches of Huliuhe River, a branch of Yongding River in Haihe River Basin, with a total capacity of 87 million cubic meters and a controlled drainage area of 1749 square kilometers. The main task of the reservoir is flood control, combined with irrigation. The reservoir complex is composed of barrage, sluice, spillway and South and north irrigation tunnels. The design standard is 100 year return period flood design, and 1000 year return period flood check. The design flood level is 922.15m, the check flood level is 924.35m, the normal pool level is 922.00m, the flood limit water level is 919.00m, and the flood regulation reservoir capacity is 56.3 million cubic meters.

The barrage is homogeneous dam with crest elevation of 925.0m. The maximum dam height is 16.7M, the length of the dam crest is 2724m, and the width of the dam crest is 6.0m. The upstream of the barrage is protected by dry masonry, with an elevation of 918.50m. The thickness of dry masonry is 40cm above the berm and 36cm below the berm. The downstream is a pebble lake with a thickness of 14cm. The upstream dam slope is 1:2.5 and 1:3.0 from top to bottom, and the downstream slope ratio is 1:2 and 1:2.5 from top to bottom.

Water transmission line

The water delivery line is: it flows into Sanggan River to Guanting reservoir through Yuxian and Yangyuan counties in Hebei Province. The water delivery line of Huliu river section is about 80 km long.

Water delivery

According to the data of Yu county government, the annual water delivery volume is 12 million cubic meters in 2004, 18 million cubic meters in 2005, 3 million cubic meters in 2006 and 5.01 million cubic meters in 2007.

In October 2010, Huliuhe reservoir delivered 5 million cubic meters of water to Beijing again
