Former site of Notre Dame French School

The former site of the French School of Notre Dame Catholic Church is a municipal cultural relic protection unit in Beijing. It is a two-story building with Chinese and Western elements. In 1908, the Church of Notre Dame of Nantang Catholic Church was founded. It was originally a French Academy under the jurisdiction of the French Ministry of industry and taught by the friars of Notre Dame. It was changed into Nantang primary school after 1921 and Nantang middle school in 1943, all belonging to the Church of Notre Dame. The building area is 5000 square meters. A two-story building with a front porch. Later, it was used in vocational schools. In 1984, together with Nantang, it was announced as the protection area and construction control zone. The protection area extends to the east wall at the south end of the second floor building of the old school site in the East, to the planning red line in the South and West, to the north wall of No.32 middle school and to the north wall of the factory in the north.
