Baxian Nature Reserve in Jixian County

It is also called Yanglou mountain, luolangzi mountain and guaikuolong mountain. It is said that when the eight immortals crossed the sea, they once surrounded a big stone on the mountain to have a little rest, so they were called the eight immortals table.

Its geographical location is 40 degrees 11-40 degrees 13 north latitude, 117 degrees 32-117 degrees 34 east longitude. It is located in the north of Xiaogang Township, Jixian County, about 1.2km northeast of Taipinggou, 55km northeast of the county. Including baxianzhuozishan, heishuihe, limutai, Yanglou, Taipinggou, Changzhou village, etc. It is bounded by shidonggou watershed in the northeast, limutai in the northwest, Heishui River in the south, Changzhou village in the west, and the Middle Upper Proterozoic geological section, covering an area of 1666 hectares.

The core reserve is between the Baxian table and the western style building. It belongs to the branch mountain system at the southern foot of the Yanshan Mountains, with a middle mountain landform. The elevation of the main peak is 1052 meters. There are cliffs in the north and East, gentle in the West and south, and the slope is more than 35 degrees. Climbing on this mountain is shrouded in clouds and fog. It's like a fairyland. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Dongling from afar. The exposed stratum is the gray white quartz sandstone of the first member of Changzhougou formation of Changcheng System in Mesoproterozoic, with monoclinic structure and southwest dip. The soil type is mountain brown soil with thick soil layer, which is suitable for forestry development. The vegetation types are Quercus acutissima, Albus zhaoshanensis, Bupleurum chinense, Evodia rutaecarpa, Betula platyphylla and Fraxinus macrophylla. Baxian table is located in the south of Baxian table forest region. Baxianzhuozi forest area is the first complete broadleaf secondary forest area in North China. The forest area is 4161 hectares, and the vegetation coverage rate is more than 80%. It has a special function to protect the upstream water source of Yuqiao reservoir, reduce soil erosion and maintain the stable balance of natural ecology. The mountains are rich in rare flowers and plants, various trees and shrubs, Chinese herbal medicines, wild animals and rare birds. The forest region is rich in kiwifruit, the endemic plant of North China, Dongling eight immortals, and Juglans mandshurica.
