Xiwahuang nature reserve is located in Songnen Plain, northwest of Wangkui county. The geographical coordinates of the reserve are 126 ° 14 ′ 15 ″ - 126 ° 18 ′ 45 ″ E. Latitude 46 ° 59 ′ 9 ″ - 46 ° 58 ′ 7 ″. The core area is 2796 hectares, the buffer area is 1457 hectares, and the experimental area is 4039 hectares.

Wangkuixiwahuang provincial Wetland Nature Reserve in Heilongjiang Province is the only provincial Wetland Nature Reserve in Suihua City. It belongs to the "inland wetland and water ecosystem type" in the "natural ecosystem type". It is a nature reserve with the wetland and water ecosystem formed by aquatic and terrestrial organisms and habitats as the main protection objects.

There are 412 species of wild vascular plants in the reserve, which belong to 191 genera and 69 families. Among them, Astragalus membranaceus, wild soybean, Myriophyllum Wusuli, Gentiana amurensis are national and provincial protected plants, which have high economic and protection value. There are 228 species of vertebrates in the reserve, including 39 species of fish, 6 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 145 species of birds. Among them, there is one species under the first-class national protection, and 20 species under the second-class national protection, all of which are birds, accounting for 11.5% of the national protected birds.
