Daxi ancient town

Daxi town is a town in Taoyuan County. There is Dahan River in the town, so it gets its name. Daxi town used to be a timber export gateway near Fuxing Township, with Dahan River as the river transportation pipeline. Although the river transportation is no longer there, the local gudutou is still preserved.

The buildings in the ancient town mainly use the facade of red brick archways with red brick houses, while the merchants use stone to carve European style arch beams and columns and complex and gorgeous relief patterns, presenting the facade archways with Baroque style. It is a street house type of long and deep multi span storefront residence with wide and narrow surface and long and long depth. The original appearance is very precious.
