The former site of Manchuria central bank

The head office of the Central Bank of Manchuria is located at 501 Datong Street, Xinjing city (now 2219 Renmin Street, northwest of Renmin Square). It covers an area of 30000 square meters and a building area of 26800 square meters. Construction started on April 22, 1934 and completed on June 15, 1938. The original plan cost 6 million Manchuria dollars, the actual expenditure of 10 million yuan. The steel consumption is more than 5000 tons. It is famous for its magnificence, solemnity and firmness in the architectural and financial circles. It has high artistic value and historical value. Now it is the office and business place of the people's Bank of China, industrial and Commercial Bank of China and other financial institutions. Important historical figures such as Pu Yi, Song Meiling, Jiang Jingguo, Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Song Qingling and Panchen master have visited this building, Now it is still one of the tourist attractions in Changchun City. This building with more than half a century's history is designated as the key cultural relics protection unit in Jilin Province.
