Wen Yiduo's former residence, also known as "Yiduo building", is located in a small yellow building on the campus of Qingdao Ocean University. In June 1930, Wen Yiduo came to Qingdao University as a professor, Dean of the school of Arts and head of the Chinese department. In the German style two-story building where he lived, he began to study the book of songs and the songs of Chu in-depth after teaching. He also completed the collection of Du Shaoling's Chronicles, interpretation of Lisao, new meaning of the book of songs and the long poem miracle. In the summer of 1932, Wen Yiduo left Qingdao.
More than one floor
The first floor is located in the northeast corner of Yushan campus of Ocean University of China. The building was built in the 1900s as an auxiliary building for Bismarck barracks.
Mr. Wen Yiduo came to Qingdao in the summer of 1930 as the dean of the school of Arts and the head of the Chinese Department of Qingdao University. In the summer of 1931, he moved to the eighth campus of national Qingdao University, which is now "one more building".
After liberation, Wen Yiduo's former residence was designated here, named "yiduolou". In 1978, Ocean University turned Yiduo building into "exhibition room of Wen Yiduo's former residence", and built a flower bed in front of the building. In the middle of the building, a half marble statue of Wen Yiduo was erected, on which was engraved an inscription written by his student and famous poet Zang Kejia.
