TIEWADIAN site

Tiewa hall site, also known as the Jade Emperor hall. It is located at the south foot of Jufeng, shaikou Town, Laoshan District. It was founded in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty.

The Tiewa hall was originally the Jade Emperor Hall of baiyun'an, but later collapsed. During the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, it was rebuilt by Taoist Li Yangxing and covered with iron tiles, which is called Tiewa hall. It is also known as the Jade Emperor hall. The tile is three feet long and in the shape of a dragon. The name of the benefactor is cast on it. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, the hall was destroyed by fire and then became a ruin.

This is the former site of Tiewa hall, surrounded by Qifeng and xiugu. The granite wall on its back is nearly 100 meters high, with stone carvings in 1663, the second year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Now you can see more than 10 stone pillars standing or falling down, which are the pillars of Tiewa hall at that time. Some of them are engraved with the names of the donors when they were built. Tiewa hall was built in the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty (1522-1566). In the 12th year of Wanli (1584) of the Ming Dynasty, Taoist Gao Laide expanded and added three Jade Emperor halls. The rebuilt hall is covered with iron tiles, so it is called "iron tile hall". It is said that all the iron tiles used were raised by galad from the south. Unfortunately, in the second year of Kangxi reign (1663), a big fire destroyed the whole temple, leaving only the remains. We can only recall the magnificence of this ancient mountain temple from these huge stone pillars, and recall the perseverance, intelligence and ingenuity of its founders.

Ticket information: no ticket required. Tickets for Kyoho tourist area are included. Admission: 80 yuan in peak season (April 1 - October 31), 50 yuan in off season (November 1 - March 31). Kyoho cableway fare: 40 yuan one way, 80 yuan round trip. Kyoho tour ticket: 40 yuan.
