Ruanjia ancestral hall is located at No. 8, Yongwang village, zhenhaizhuang street. Now it is expropriated as a factory building. Life of builder

According to historical records, Ruan Wenzhong (1865-1934), a famous patriot of Ningbo Gang, built the Ruan ancestral hall in 1910. It is said that 100000 silver Liang was spent at that time, and a large part of the money was spent on exquisite paints and carpentry, in order to achieve a grand scale, exquisite details and long preservation.

The village also has the legend of Ruan Wenzhong. In 1890, 25-year-old Ruan Wenzhong transported a batch of rice from her hometown, rented a store in Shanghai alone, and founded Yuanfeng foodstuff. After three years of business, it has become one of the few grain merchants in Shanghai. After that, Ruan Wenzhong seized the business opportunity to set up Yuanfeng and Yuanfeng soybean meal manufacturing Institute in Hankou, Hubei Province. She purchased and processed agricultural and sideline products and sold them overseas. After that, nearly 100 enterprises, including Yuanfeng egg processing plant, were set up in Kaifeng to manage agricultural and sideline products, and Yuanshun transportation company was set up.

Ruan's business was very profitable, and he was very charitable all his life. He spent a lot of money to build the Yellow Crane Tower, rebuild luzu hall, build Xuchang epidemic hospital, rebuild Bailong nunnery and build primary and secondary schools in his hometown. Ruan ancestral hall was also born in this period.

Ruan Wenzhong overworked in her later years and could not afford to be ill. After his death, a grand memorial meeting was held in Zhuang City, his hometown. Many "Ningbo Gang" celebrities in Shanghai and Wuhan attended the funeral. Wang Zhaoming, ye gongchuo, Xu Mo, Wang Yuxiang, Yu Daojiu, Zhang Zhaoyuan and Yu qiaqing all wrote inscriptions for his portrait, praising Ruan Wenxin's merits and virtues.
