Along the stone path northbound, followed by dream incense burner, Candlestick, Baoding, and then go ahead is the main hall. The hall is about 18 meters high, and the altar is dedicated to the Buddha of Calais, which is 8 meters high. On the left side of the Tathagata is Nanhai Guanyin, on the right side is dizang Wang, and on the East and west sides of the hall are eighteen Arhats. In the southeast corner, there is a bronze temple bell that three people can't hold together. It weighs about three tons. At dawn every day, "the morning bell frightens the birds, and the ancient town is another day.". Its predecessor is Dongyue Temple. According to historical records, Dongyue Temple was built at the end of Ming Dynasty. There were four entrances and ninety-nine and a half houses. There was a theater building on the front hall, a supporting building on both sides, which could accommodate hundreds of people. Behind it was a courtyard that could accommodate ten thousand people. On the 28th of March of the lunar calendar, troupes and pilgrims come here to perform and offer incense. They celebrate the birthday of King Tianqi of Dongyue and pray for blessings. Later, a Changlun monk changed Dongyue Temple into a national day temple, praying for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people. During the Anti Japanese War, the national day temple was destroyed in the war. In 1998, it was rebuilt in the original site with the efforts of all parties.
