Small stone cave

Xiaoshidong, located in the west of Yushan, Changshu, Jiangsu Province, near the waggle peak, is more than three meters deep. It is a famous scenic spot of Dongquan in Yushan.

Introduction to scenic spots

The spring water seeps from the wall of the cave, and the wall is full of water drops, just like dew drops, and then drops to the bottom of the cave. With the sound of clang Cong, it becomes a green spring, which is called "dew spring". There is a thousand year old vine at the entrance of the cave. Although the bark of the vine has been peeled, its branches and leaves are green and vigorous. It covers the top of the cave and makes the cave even deeper.

Located at the West foot of Yushan Mountain in the former baiyunxi temple, the temple has been destroyed for a long time. Enter the gate dozens of steps, you will see this cave, known as the "small stone cave.".

The cave is more than three meters deep, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. It goes down along the stone steps. The cliff on the left side of the stratum is covered like a house, which can accommodate more than ten people. According to the legend in Wu Di Ji written by Lu Guangwei in Tang Dynasty, it is called "the place where the Duke Lu wanted to avoid Zhou". In the middle of the bottom of the cave is a spring pool, with clear water. The clouds, trees and shadows on the cave all enter the pool. There are eye-catching stone carvings of "dew spring" and "world famous spring" on the wall of the pool. The spring overflows from the stone gap and falls like a bead, which can be heard when entering the pool. The spring water is so sweet that it is the best tea for cooking.

At the entrance of the cave is a Wisteria plant left by tengxi thatched cottage of Ming Dynasty. Its main stem is 0.25 meters in diameter at breast height and about 10 meters in height. It is surrounded by a few beads, and is coiled with twigs and twisted upward. Because the cave is deep and covered with ancient vines, the cave is warm in winter and cool in summer, and the temperature is pleasant.

Related knowledge

According to local records, the baiyunqi temple, where the cave is located, built a Buddhist cottage beside the cave in the early Ming Dynasty. In 1755, sun Qifu, a native of the Qing Dynasty, spent seven years to build more than 50 houses, with a great momentum. It was named "baiyunqi Temple". During the Jiaqing period, Qian Chaojin and Yan Shangwei rebuilt the cave and built a "spring Pavilion" on it. In 1860, the temple was destroyed, and then it was slightly repaired. It is no longer the old view. There are many stone inscriptions and inscriptions around the cave, such as Qian Long's copy of Mi Fu's "fantianyou" forehead, Zhao Mengfu's book "humble chamber inscription", Wu Weiguang's book "xiaoshidong Chuang Si Zhitian Ji", Daoguang Weng Luo's painting, Qian Yong's book "biography of meihuaxi Buddhist statues", etc.
