Nanyuan tea house
Nanyuan tea house is located in Tongli Town, Wujiang City, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It was built in the late Qing Dynasty. It is located in the scene of "Nanshi Xiaoyan", one of the top eight scenic spots in the history of Tongli. It can be called "the first teahouse in the south of the Yangtze River".
Nanyuan teahouse lies on the water, overlooking the city rivers on both sides. Boats shuttle back and forth. The revetment twists and turns with the street. There is a cry of "fish and shrimp, Brasenia schreberi, tender lotus root" beside the water bridge. On the bank, there are tall elms, ancient locust trees, magpies, crows and birds resting on the branches. In the morning fog, there are water shadows in the cave. The village women wear embroidered headgear, lace skirt, bun tied with bright red head rope, washing clothes in Hebu In the early morning, the business of the teahouse is very good. There are many fishing boats at the end of the river. The people upstairs and downstairs are noisy and steaming. The tea guests gather in the teahouse to drink tea, chat, eat snacks and inquire about the market. On the floor, there are more than ten tea tables, teacups and teapots placed at will. The old people sit with teapots, and some even hold a chimney. The custom of "tea at two ends, lake water in the middle", which has been followed by local fishermen for generations, has not changed much. The teahouse also provides them with many conveniences, such as resting, washing and dining, so it is also called "Fisherman's Wharf".
A poem says:
Rest worry about this food without fish, ten miles around the size of the lake;
Teahouse Street leisure net, fishing boat shallow carry smile call.
