Laopo natural ecological scenic spot of Heihe River covers an area of 24600 mu, with an altitude of 2836 meters. It is located in the southeast of Mangshi city (the junction of Zhongshan Township and Mengjia town), about 50 km away from the urban area of Mangshi city. It is subordinate to Zhongshan Township, bordering Longling County in the East, and Myanmar in the south. It belongs to the East Branch mountain area with high terrain.

There is abundant rainfall on the old slope of Heihe River. There is an obvious vertical band spectrum in the reserve, and there are abundant plant species in the reserve. There are more than 2500 kinds of higher plants, including 30 species of Taxus chinensis var. mairei, pseudomichelia fortunei and Fagopyrum tataricum under the first, second and third level national protection, and 18 species of rare and endangered plants under provincial protection. In January 2001, experts from Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences discovered Dipterocarpaceae, a rare and endangered plant, in laopo nature reserve of Heihe River. There are more than 100 plants of Dipterocarpaceae, all of which grow between 1200 and 1500 meters above sea level. It is an "inconceivable" phenomenon in botany that Dipterocarpaceae grows at such a high altitude. There are about 69 species of animals, including 23 species of national first and second grade rare wild animals, such as bee monkey, bear, monkey and Silver Pheasant.

In laopo nature reserve of Heihe River, there are not only boundless natural landscape of alpine meadow, but also subtropical virgin forest with uncertain weather. The forest is always filled with fog, just like a fairyland in a dream.

Construction planning

After the completion of the first phase construction, the second phase construction will be completed in 2015, which will be developed by Mangshi Tourism Investment Co., Ltd., with a total investment of more than 100 million yuan. Nearly ten million yuan has been invested in the first phase of the scenic area to build some infrastructure. Among them, only the wooden plank road with ancient and simple characteristics, winding up the mountain from the foot of the mountain, is 6 kilometers.

Listening to the roaring mountain wind and watching the vast sea of clouds, the "old slope of Heihe River" has set up outdoor sports, film and television bases, camping and other tourism projects based on its unique natural ecological landscape and Susu hunting culture. There are many rivers, such as Qingshui River, saigan River, Xiaoqing River, Wanma River, mangxing River and so on. Many scenic spots, such as "tingfengtai", "hot blooded shooting range", "kaixuanlou" and "Zhuofeng racecourse", have distinctive features.
