Tongjing Park

Tongjing park is located in the northeast corner of the junction of Tongjing road and Jiefang Road, covering an area of about 200000 square meters. It is the largest municipal park in the central city of Suzhou. Around the three planning concepts of "ecology, humanity and science and technology", the park uses simple design and gardening techniques to fully reflect people's pursuit of ecological nature and their desire for high-tech exploration in modern cities.

Main attractions

The park is surrounded by a circular two-way main road. Along the main road, there are six functional areas, including entrance area, children's recreation area, central scenic area, blind plant park, ecological leisure area and waterscape area.

In the entrance area, through a series of sculptures, floating fountains, stainless steel cable lights and slope plant forest landscape sequence, create a kind of "big pearl small pearl falling jade plate" dynamic landscape. A dense forest separates the children's recreation area from the main entrance, forming a relatively independent and quiet environment with a series of unique sports and entertainment facilities, opening up a world for small tourists. With waterfalls as the background, the central scenic spot adopts the classical gardening technique, with rivers and bridges built, pavilions, platforms, corridors and pavilions interspersed among them. Through a slowly flowing river, Suzhou cultural landscape walls and Suzhou style gardens on both sides of the terrace are connected together, just like a long historical river, showing people the splendid culture and long history of Suzhou for 5000 years.

The largest blind botanical garden covering 12200 square meters is built, which is divided into four areas: flower appreciation, branch appreciation, fruit appreciation and leaf appreciation. There are more than 120 kinds of flowers and plants, including nearly 70 kinds of non-toxic and thornless flowers and plants with obvious olfactory and tactile characteristics. The introduction of Chinese, English, Braille and voice systems is set up to form a diversified culture It is convenient for blind tourists to enter and leave the botanical garden, and equipped with barrier free facilities such as walking poles, rest booths and toilets for the blind, highlighting the concept of resource sharing, humanistic spirit and humanization. The water scenic area integrates the concept of high technology and ecology, forming a large-scale water rock rockery, showing the landscape of "water is the source of life", which is magnificent and adds a lot of aura to the whole park. The whole park uses floating water curtain, zigzag river course, relief wall, native tree species, spiral lighthouse and other gardening elements and modern techniques to create a rich and colorful landscape, to reflect the harmonious beauty of modern and traditional, so that visitors can truly feel that they do not lose the modern in the ancient simplicity, do not lose the nature in the modern, and are full of profound implication in the nature.
