Shengqi building

Shengqi building is located on the Bank of Mochou Lake in Nanjing. It was built in the early years of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 1871. The building is a two-story, five Bay building with exquisite engraving. There is a chess table in the middle hall of the main entrance. It is said that this is the place where Zhu Yuanzhang and Xu Da played chess. So far, there is still a portrait of Xu Da in the "Shengqi building".

Shengqi building is the main scenic spot in Mochou Lake. It is a historical building with Ming and Qing Dynasty style. It has two floors. The small green brick tile has a solemn shape and exquisite craftsmanship. There are several hundred pieces of Ming and Qing Dynasty mahogany furniture with portraits, copied dragon robes and crowns, antique jade and ivory carvings on display in the building, which is the best in Jinling. Climbing on this building, you can have a panoramic view of Zhongshan dragon plate, stone city tiger perched, overlooking the pavilion in the middle of the lake. You can have a panoramic view of the lake with waves, clouds and shadows. Today, people are relaxed and happy.

There is a chess table in the middle hall of the main entrance. It is said that this place is specially for Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of Ming Dynasty, to play chess, so it is called "chess building". Today, however, the plaque on the door of the building says "Shengqi building".

Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of Ming Dynasty, was very fond of playing go. At that time, there was a famous official in the court named Xu Da, who was a master of chess. But every time Zhu Yuanzhang played chess with Xu, Xu Da was always defeated by him. In this regard, Zhu Yuanzhang knew that Xu Da was willing to let him do it. However, Zhu Yuanzhang was sometimes very confident that Xu Da might not be able to win. Once, Zhu Yuanzhang asked Xu Da to play chess again. He told Xu Da repeatedly in advance: you are not to blame for winning or losing. You should try your best to play chess in order to win or lose. As a result, the battle broke out. They went down from morning to noon, and they didn't attend to lunch. At this time, Zhu Yuanzhang pushed Xu Da forward. Seeing that the victory was in sight, he was very happy and asked Xu Da, "Ai Qing, what do you think of this game?" Xu Da nodded with a smile and said, "long live the whole situation!" Zhu Yuanzhang quickly got up and looked at the chess game. He could not help but exclaim: "Oh! I'm not as good as Xu Qing! " It turns out that Zhu Yuanzhang found that Xu Da's chess pieces were made into "long live".

In order to reward Xu Da for his achievements and skills, Zhu Yuanzhang will grant Xu Da the "chess building" and the whole Mochou Lake Garden, and change the name of "chess building" to "Shengqi building". From then on, the Xu family took charge of Mochou Lake products from generation to generation until modern times. So far, there is still a portrait of Xu Da in the "Shengqi building". Later generations also wrote such a couplet: "Mo Chou's daughter looks at the flowers and her eyebrows are dancing, and Zhu Yuanzhang's playing chess is a great success.".

Although Lianyu also writes about heroes and beauties, it doesn't stick to this. From the ancients to today, from one person to everyone, I wish people a happy life without worry.

Liu Junfu's couplet broadens his horizons

Zhongshan East, the Yangtze River to the west, the terrain Zhuang Jinling, dengsilou also, hi political situation catalpa, a chess high by national players;

Yuhua South screen, cool North leaning, Tianan hanging Zisai, recalling the beauty, note wave light cloud shadow, Qianqiu purpose win heavy Huafeng.

The couplet describes the beautiful scenery of the southeast and northwest of Shengqi building. When you climb the building, you can feel nostalgic and sigh.
