Jiulong Mountain

It is said that since ancient times, one Canglong and eight little dragons have lived at the foot of Jiulong Mountain. One day, nine Canglong and eight little dragons flew to the East China Sea and looked back on the way. When they saw the overlapping peaks and beautiful bells, they fell in love with each other. So they turned their way back, set up camp, moisten the nature, breed all living beings, and finally turned into a big eight small nine mountains.

Yankou cave is located at the foot of Jiulong Mountain knee ridge, Yankou Town, 45 km away from the county seat and 55 km away from Shaoyang City. There are two entrances, one is connected with Yankou reservoir, and the other is a free passage of 1500 meters long, 1.8 meters wide and 2 meters high, which is manually excavated by the state-owned gold mine. From the entrance of the cave to the exit of shaping Tiankeng, the total length is 6409 meters. The width of the tunnel is 2-137m and the height is 0.8-39m, belonging to lime structure. There are many stalactites in the cave, with different shapes, or hanging upside down on the sky wall, such as chandeliers, Tianman, Longteng, Fengxiang, etc.

Along the river, there are 47 large landscapes named after the shape, such as dog ring eye, car road, airplane flat, thousand hill field, Yellow Crane Tower, Jinluan hall, etc. The wonder of the cave lies in its underground Yinhe River, which is accompanied by the cave. The river sand contains gold.

In the early 1940s, more than 10000 people once swarmed into the cave to dig for sand and gold. The river is fast, sometimes gentle, sometimes into the rock, sometimes into the deep pool, deep boat, shallow only set foot in, clear and sweet. The flow of water makes it interesting. It's wonderful. The air in the cave is fresh and the temperature is pleasant, which is maintained at about 20 degrees all the year round. Because of this good natural condition, the central government once designated it as a military industrial site, and general Cao Lihuai, deputy commander of the air force, once personally went into the cave to investigate with his staff, which was full of praise.

Now the cave is under development. Visitors can not only covet the wonders of the cave, but also operate gold mining by themselves. Maybe you can get a few grams of gold by washing a basin of river sand. Yankou cave in Jiuqu circle is famous for its depth, strangeness and danger. It can be called the first natural cave in Longhui and even Shaoyang. Jiulong Mountain is lush with bamboo and huge stones. In the east of the mountain, there is a stone with a human face and a lion's head. From the side, it looks like Gorky on his back sighing at the sky. From the front, it looks like a lion roaring in the mountains. From the back, it looks like a camel galloping in the desert.

Along the mountain, there are swallows in the rock, and the nests are built high, just like the flying swallow. On the hillside, HuangGuo waterfall and triple waterfall are full of momentum and white fog. "The book of heaven with Chinese characters", which is incomprehensible to all readers, hangs high on the stone wall with strong writing power; LIANLI ancient gingko is luxuriant and straight into the sky.

These scenic spots are well arranged and distributed on a complete tourist ring line, which makes visitors dizzying. Along the golden cave on the mountain, there is a long and narrow passage covered by trees. There is a dragon head stone. It stands on the top of the mountain, swallowing clouds and puffing fog. There is a Jiulongshan reservoir in the shape of Bi Luo, inlaid in the Qifeng gorge, and there is the ancient Jiulong temple with the misty sound of Sanskrit. It gives people a kind of pure enjoyment. In the early morning, we climb to the top of the mountain and stand on a huge stone called guanri terrace. From a distance, we can see a red sun breaking out of the fog All of them cheered for the magnificence of nature.

From the south of the mountain, there is a green stone post road, which is the only way from Southwest Hunan to Sichuan and Guizhou. There is a story about Cao a man leading the army to stop thirst at the plum blossom in Wangmei Pavilion. The night pearl inlaid with huge stones once brought the night light to night walkers. When walking to the knee ridge, there is a kneeling stone, which is as bright as a mirror. It is said that it is given by the immortal. All passers-by grind their knees with stones to relieve their fatigue. The ancient pavilion named "Xianji Pavilion" in the ridge can not only serve as a resting place for passers-by to cool down, drink tea and chat, but also serve as a reference Celebrities and poets comment on the beauty of the stone couplets carved on both sides of the pavilion door. The couplet says, "where do the guests come from? They have a long and arduous journey. The mountains are very steep and the roads of the world are very dangerous. When we stop traveling, we can see nothing about it. In the world, the clouds are running and the fog is chasing. All the peaks are in a hurry.". This couplet, which profoundly reveals the life of the world, has attracted many visitors.

Shaoyang belongs to the humid monsoon climate zone in the middle subtropics, with abundant light, abundant rain, four distinct seasons, mild climate, less heat in summer and less severe cold in winter.

Traffic routes

Take the bus from Changsha to longhui County, get off at Zhouwang town of longhui County, and then transfer to China bus in Yankou town. Or take a minibus from Shaoyang west station to Yankou town. Xiangxi passengers can take buses from Huaihua, Fenghuang and Jishou to longhui County, and then take the bus from longhui county passenger station to Yankou town. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes by car, and the whole journey is made of cement and asphalt.
