Time: 2022-01-30 05:41:11 Author: ChinaWiki.net

Former residence of Li Jishen

Li Jishen's former residence is located in Yaoshen village, Dapo Town, Longxu District, Wuzhou City, Guangxi Province, more than 40 kilometers away from Wuzhou City. Li Jishen was born here in 1885.

Li Jishen's former residence is a large house with Chinese and Western architectural styles. In December 1995, with the consent of the Party committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Li Jishen's former residence was named the patriotic education base of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

In 1996, Li Jishen's former residence was announced as the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.

Introduction of former residence

Li Jishen's former residence is a manor style brick and wood structure building, covering an area of 3400 square meters. It is a green brick house, a courtyard style wing and building, surrounded by walls and turrets. There is a verdant ancient iron wood forest behind the courtyard, with elegant scenery. There is a piece of marble embedded in the gate, which is engraved with five characters of "Li Jishen's former residence" written by Hu Yaobang himself.

Up the escalator to the second floor, the Western railings on the corridors around are unique, and the flowers and plants carved on the doors and windows add ancient color. On the second floor are Li Jishen's bedroom, reception room and telegraph room, which are still the same as before.

Revolutionary deeds

In 1929, Li Jishen was imprisoned by Chiang Kai Shek, and Tang Shan returned to live here after his release. In 1936, a National Revolutionary Alliance was held here.

During the Anti Japanese period, he contacted the KMT and CPC parties and cultural circles, such as Chen Mingshu, Jiang guangnai, Cai tingkai, Zhu Yunshan, Mei Gongbin, Chen Xizhou and Xuan Xiafu, to discuss the Anti Japanese issues behind the enemy lines. In 1944, he accepted Zhou Enlai's suggestion to return to his former residence and organize the people's armed forces. He and a group of patriotic cultural personages sent by Dong Biwu organized the "Southern Anti Japanese Committee" here to carry out Anti Japanese activities in the enemy's rear areas and maintain telecommunication contact with Yan'an.

There is a pier type sidewalk on the tile surface of the former residence, which is connected with the turret on the four corners. It is a building that can attack and defend.

After liberation, Li Jishen's former residence had been repaired many times. In 1997, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit at the national level and a patriotic education base at the autonomous region level. Visitors marvel at the perfect combination of Chinese and Western architectural art, living room and turret.
