White Pagoda of boundless Temple
Boundless temple, also known as white pagoda temple, is named after the White Pagoda in the temple. Located in Taigu County, Shanxi Province. This temple was founded in 272 A.D. in the eighth year of Taishi in the Western Jin Dynasty. It was rebuilt during the reign of Zhiping in the Northern Song Dynasty and was named "PUCI Temple". In the fifth year of Yuanyou in the Northern Song Dynasty (1090 AD), it was renewed and a white pagoda was built, which began to be known as the White Pagoda Temple. Yuan, Ming, Qing and repeatedly repair, Guangxu 32 years again repair, known as "boundless temple.". With a history of more than 1700 years, the temple is one of the key cultural relics protection units in Shanxi Province.
There are seven stories outside the white tower, more than 40 meters high, for octagonal brick and wood structure. The appearance of the tower is still in Song Dynasty style, with brick and stone eaves, wooden brackets, doors and windows on each floor, decorated with Fengduo; there are nine floors in the tower, with wooden floors and wooden stairs for climbing, and Taigu city can be viewed from the top of the tower.
