Ji'an Border Railway Bridge is located 15 kilometers east of Ji'an City in Jilin Province. It has the reputation of "the shortest international train in the world" and "the first ferry to resist US aggression and aid Korea". It is one of the three major railway bridges in China to Korea. It has a total length of 589.23 meters, a width of 5 meters, a height of 6 meters, and a total of 20 holes. China and North Korea draw their respective maintenance boundaries with the central line of the 11th pier, 324.23 meters for the Chinese side and 265 meters for the DPRK side. China and North Korea have separate sentries and guards.
There are mainly four story blockhouses which are rare in China. At that time, the Japanese also built boundary steles, gates and border sentries while building bridges. They can experience the "one-step cross between China and North Korea".
On October 11, 1950, the Chinese people's volunteers first entered the DPRK secretly from the Yalu River Railway Bridge in Ji'an. During the Korean War, 420000 troops, 172000 stretchers and 150000 vehicles of materials entered the front line of the battle, and 182000 wounded people were transported back, which made a great contribution to the victory of the Korean War.
