Ya mountain scenic spot is located in Hewan Town, Nanling County, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It is known as the "Golden Triangle" of Wuhu. It covers an area of 25 square kilometers. It is 25 kilometers away from Qingyang exit of tonghuang Expressway and 17 kilometers away from fengyangpo exit of riverside expressway.

Development history

As early as 1987, it was rated as one of the first batch of Anhui provincial scenic spots. Xishan Scenic Spot, the predecessor of the scenic spot, has always ranked first among the ten scenic spots in Wuhu.

In 2004, Anhui Yashan Huahai Shilin Tourism Co., Ltd. planned and developed the scenic spot with the latest tourism concept, and launched a new theme image of "Yashan Huahai Shilin".

After four years of efforts and huge investment in human and material resources, Ya mountain scenic spot is located in Nanling County, the ancient copper capital, 35 kilometers away from Nanling County, 80 kilometers away from Wuhu City, 50 kilometers away from Jiuhua Mountain scenic spot, 120 kilometers away from Huangshan Mountain scenic spot and 180 kilometers away from Nanjing city.

Yashan Geopark is the Sixth Batch of national geoparks approved by the Ministry of land and resources in 2011. It is located in Hewan Town, southwest of Nanling County, Wuhu City, Anhui Province, with an area of 65 km2.

Yashan scenic spot takes the unique karst landform landscape of Yashan stone forest, peak cluster depression, funnel, karst cave, Tiankeng, underground river and karst Lake as the core resources, and takes the Permian Triassic standard stratigraphic section, zhulianbao, sandiebao and Dulong gorge landscape as the characteristics, supplemented by peony culture, Buddhism culture, folk culture and other human landscapes, integrating scientific research and popular science education It is a typical comprehensive Geopark with karst landscape features in East China.

Yashan scenic spot is a national AAAA scenic spot, one of the important scenic spots of Anhui "two mountains and one lake" Tourism Economic Zone, and a new highlight of tourism in southern Anhui. Tourists call it "the most beautiful back garden in East China".

The beauty of Ya mountain lies in its four unique features: sea of flowers, stone forest, strange cave and holy spring.

Wuhu City

Take bus no.10/18/20/45/51/206/216 to the terminal Yijiang bus hub, get off to Wuhu south bus station, take bus no.wuhu Nanling (Wunan line) to Jishan town government station, and transfer to bus No.10 Nanling (Nanling West Bus Station - Yashan) to the terminal.

Outside Wuhu

Take Beijing Fuzhou high speed railway (Hefei Fuzhou high speed railway) to Nanling station, take bus Nanling No.8 to the terminal, and then transfer to bus Nanling No.10 (Nanling bus West Station - Yashan) to the terminal.

Legend of Ya mountain

There is a beautiful legend about the origin of the name of Yashan: when the king of Tibet of the Tang Dynasty visited the south, he saw the beautiful water and mountains here, so he decided to choose it as a temple site.

But he never thought that when he fell from the clouds, he stepped on the mountain in half, which was like the word "Ya", so Yashan was named after it.

The original steep mountain peak was trampled in half, so the king of Tibet had no choice but to choose Jiuhua Mountain, which is not too far away, as the place to build the temple.

However, he was still obsessed with Yashan. The wise disciples knew his mind, so they chose Nanshan, which is opposite to Yashan, to build a temple. They looked at Jiuhua from afar. They even stopped to listen in the morning, and the sound of Jiuhua bell was faintly heard.

It is said that the "monk Association Division" (monk's court) of Jiuhua Mountain was once set up in Nanshan, which shows that the king of Tibet attached great importance to Nanshan Temple.

There are three treasures in Nanshan: Spotted bamboo, boneless fish and bijiniao. Boneless fish is about three inches long. Its whole body is black and shiny, without a thorn card. Its meat is fresh and tender. It is a treasure in the banquet and used to be a royal tribute in the past.

Yashanxiang is known as "the hometown of peony", with attractive natural scenery and charming cultural landscape. People are familiar with the famous poem "looking up at the sky and laughing to go out, are we Penghao people?" which was written by Li Bai before he went to Beijing to live in yashanzhai mountain in Tang Dynasty.
