Tiandu mountain

Tiandu mountain, also known as Xihua mountain, is located 15 miles to the west of the ancient city of Xi'an town (ancient West Anzhou city) in Haiyuan county. About 2.5 kilometers from the pass along the tourist road, you can see an ancient temple, which is the famous Tiandu Mountain Grottoes. There are several temples all over it, which are the epitome of religion and art.

Introduction to tiandushan Grottoes

According to folklore, Jinniu was found in the mountain, so the cave is also called Jinniu temple. Local people also call it Laoye Temple because there are statues of Buddha in the cave. In addition, it was also called "Rongguang Temple" in ancient times. On the south facing hillside in the north of the gully, the terraces and temples were built and the caves were cut. From the bottom of the ditch, there is a winding path to climb. Along the zigzag road, climbing the hillside, there are the earth hall and the Dragon King Hall. Tiandushan grottoes were excavated in the song and Xia dynasties. There are 6 caves and 13 temples. At that time, Buddhism was popular in China, and temples were built in every famous mountain. In 1046, Wang Yuanhao built a summer palace here. Once upon a time, there were many temples in Tiandu mountain, with eaves and ridges, carved beams and painted buildings. Beautiful rocks, surrounded by mountains, thick trees, Qifeng Cuibi, Qingquan streamer, uneven temples, deep ancient caves.

The tiandushan Grottoes have suffered many calamities in the vicissitudes of thousands of years. They were destroyed several times by wars and earthquakes, and rebuilt several times. The original bronze Buddha has been completely destroyed. The most severe punishment is that when the great leap forward copper smelting was carried out in 1958, all the trees around the temple were cut down and the temple became rubble. In recent years, the Grottoes have remodeled the statue of Buddha, showing her majestic appearance once again. The cave group integrates Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. To commemorate the Christmas of wuliangzu, a grand temple fair is held on the eighth day of April every year. The fair lasts for three days. At that time, many good men and women are going to the mountain. In 1989, it was named "tiandushan Daoguan" by the county Religious Bureau, and now it is the key protection unit of scenic spots and historic sites in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Spring and autumn festivals. You can enjoy the snow in the mountains in winter, but it's not suitable for camping.

Take the 10:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 (Yinchuan Haiyuan) express direct bus at Yinchuan bus station. It takes only 3 hours to get to the local area. You can rent a car when you arrive at the place, and the car rental fee is about 50 ~ 100 yuan. If you want to visit the ancient city of Xi'an, Caiyuan cultural relics, Jiucaiping Gongbei, Lingguang temple in Nanhua mountain, and Xumishan Grottoes in Guyuan, you can only refuel and stay in "Haiyuan Hotel" or the guest house in Xi'an town.

Taoist mountain. Located in the west of the ancient city of Xi'an, Haiyuan County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is about 2.5 km from the pass along the gully. On the south slope of the gully to the north, there are several Taoist and Buddhist buildings, and three Grottoes with statues of Taoist and Buddhist. The grottoes are rectangular, flat top and straight wall, three or four meters wide and five or six meters deep. The statues in the three grottoes are abandoned. There are three caves along the three caves, which are called Yuhuang cave, Guanyin cave and zushi cave. They are places of interest for Buddhism and Taoism.
