Gu Zhenghong's former residence
Gu Zhenghong's former residence is on the Zhuan River, about two kilometers southeast of Zhenghong street, Zhenghong Township, Binhai County. Now it belongs to Zhenghong village. The former residence is an ordinary farmhouse, with three north facing south mud walled thatched houses and wooden doors and windows. The former residence is facing east and West. The adobe wall is covered with wheat straw. The surface is 11 meters wide, the depth is 4.8 meters, the eaves height is 1.98 meters, and the ridge height is 3.95 meters. In the 1960s, the local government built the house for his mother, which is 6.3 meters wide, 4.8 meters deep, 2.2 meters high and 3.95 meters high. The front of the house is flat. On the left side of the gate, there is a marble tablet inlaid with the inscription: "Jiangsu cultural relics protection unit / Gu Zhenghong martyr's former residence / Jiangsu Provincial People's Government / announcement on April 28, 1995 / Yancheng people's government" The government has set up a "government".
Gu Zhenghong (1905-1925) was born in a poor peasant family in Zhuanhe township of Zhanggou (now Zhenghong village of Zhenghong town). In 1921, he was hit by a flood in Northern Jiangsu Province and fled to Shanghai. He soon became a worker in the seventh cotton factory in Japan. In May 1925, the Japanese capitalists tore up the agreement signed with the workers when they went on strike in February. They closed down the factory to fight back against the workers and plotted to sabotage the newly established trade union. On the 15th, Gu Zhenghong, a member of the Communist Party, led the workers into the factory to negotiate, but was shot dead by the Japanese capitalists. This incident aroused the anger of the people all over the country and shocked the Chinese and foreign "May 30th Movement" with Gu Zhenghong's sacrifice as the fuse ”The anti imperialist Patriotic Movement erupted like a volcano. Gu Zhenghong's fighting spirit is recorded in the annals of history.
