Qinchuan Village

Qinchuan village is located in the west of Langchuan Township, Chun'an County, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Surrounded by green hills, Qinchuan river runs through the north and south, dividing the whole village into two. Chun'an county is the administrative village with the largest and most concentrated population. There are still a large number of ancient houses built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the village, accounting for about 60%.

General situation of the village

Qinchuan village is a newly discovered ancient village in Qiandao Lake area. It is located in Langchuan Township, Chun'an County, Zhejiang Province. It has a history of more than 750 years. There are more than 500 families and 1900 villagers in the village. Chun'an county is the administrative village with the largest and most concentrated population. There are still a large number of ancient houses built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the village, accounting for about 60%.

When we enter Qinchuan village in the form of "Wang", we can feel the artistic conception of "picking chrysanthemums under the East fence and seeing Nanshan leisurely". Although Qinchuan village is located in Zhejiang Province, its residential buildings are all Hui style. Stroll among them, as if to an ancient village in southern Anhui. There are five big camphor trees at the entrance of the village. The biggest one is more than 800 years ago. Its roots are seven or eight meters deep into the land. It takes ten people to hold the trunk.

Entering the village, a stream lies in the middle of the village, like a belt of clothing floating from the upstream to the entrance of the village. There are more than 30 bridges in the village, and more than half of them are single wooden bridges made of cypress, about 10 cm wide. Walking on the bridge, cypress will often make a "creak creak" sound. The houses on both sides of the stream seem to be built around the stream, such as Taohuayuan in Tao Yuanming's works.

The houses in the village belong to the Hui style, which are of brick and wood structure. The houses are of two-story structure with three openings and three entrances. There is a small patio in the front and back. The middle hall is separated from the back hall by a wooden screen, which is very simple. The villagers in the village are very hospitable. Qinchuan village has a unique geographical environment. The whole village is inlaid in the narrow foothills of Fengshan mountain. Qinchuan stream flows from the middle of the village in an "s" shape from north to south. The village is divided into two parts from the head to the foot of the village. The whole stream is 6-7 meters wide. There has been a revetment since ancient times. The two sides are paved with bluestone slabs. There is a water quay at the door of every household, which is easy to wash and play. One of them is a semicircle, which is rare. All the houses built near the stream are connected to the stream by underground channels, which are used for water diversion and drainage. The design is exquisite and reasonable. Qinchuan river is the only source of production and life for villagers. In the stream, small fish flock together and compete with each other to play. Inside and outside the village, there are 36 covered bridges, single hole stone arch bridges, single wooden bridges and wooden bridges, all of which span the river. In addition to a small number of wooden bridges, which have been rebuilt into concrete bridges with the development of the times, most of these bridges still retain their original style, and now there are Jinde bridge, Jiyun bridge, etc. In addition to the ancient dwellings, there are ancestral halls in the village. There were seven ancestral halls, which were built by the ancestors and their six sons. There are four existing ancestral halls, among which Guangyu hall, Dunhu hall and other ancient ancestral halls are well protected. There is a confrontation between lion mountain and elephant mountain at the entrance of the village, commonly known as "lion and elephant guarding the door". At the head of the village, there are 5 ancient camphor trees with a chest circumference of about 4 meters. In the village, Wang's descendants also kept two sets of genealogy of Wang's family in Jiangzuo Prefecture, from which it can be seen that the original eight sceneries of Qinchuan were: Silver Peak towering, Qinjian clarifying, Xiangshan tucui, Shishi stopping cloud, Yuping xiancui, jinyintenghui, Shanxia dilou, sand protection bell, etc

Traffic tips

Transportation: the shuttle bus from Qiandaohu north bus station to fenkou, passing near Qinchuan village, takes about 40 minutes to reach Qinchuan village. The shuttle bus runs about half an hour, and the overtime bus runs every five minutes on national day, Spring Festival and other holidays.

Self driving route: from Qiandaohu town to Qianfen highway, through Jiangjia Town, about 44 km to Qinchuan village.
