Lufeng dinosaur fossil site is located 4.5km away from Lufeng County. It is mainly distributed in dinosaur mountain. The whole mountain is Mesozoic Jurassic strata. Because a large number of dinosaur fossils have been unearthed here, it is called dinosaur mountain.

Lufeng dinosaur fossils were discovered in 1938, which is one of the places with the largest number and concentration of dinosaur fossils in the world. At that time, more than 30 kinds of dinosaur fossils belonging to 24 genera were found in Lufeng area, belonging to amphibians, reptiles and mammals, collectively referred to as "Lufeng sauroposauropods".
