In ancient China, there are many fables and legends that the drop of water wears away the stone and the softness overcomes the hardness. Jinghun gorge in Jiuxiang scenic area is a typical example. The gorge has been cut and washed by the maitian River, which has remained unchanged for hundreds of thousands of years, into an underground river about 70 meters high and only 3-5 meters wide.

brief introduction

The gorge is nearly 100 meters high, and the narrowest part is only three or four meters wide. It is the deepest Underground Grand Canyon found in China. Both sides of the cliff such as cut, gorge bottom line of flowing spring, magnificent. The faint and flowing spring looks weak and boneless. However, due to years of erosion, it has cut through the cliff which was formed 600 million years ago like steel and iron. What a great thing it is. Jinghun gorge can be traversed by a plank road. Walking in the gorge, people are worried that the gorge will close at any time. When you go to the depth of the gorge and look back, the skylight is held into a thin sheet. At the end of the gorge, there are two layers of stalactite ancient caves penetrated by the ancient river.

Only Jiuxiang can really match your sensitive physical and mental peace and refreshing. We used to admire the hardness and softness of Yincui Gorge, but in jinghun gorge, we always deduce the universal law that water passes through rocks and softness can overcome hardness. Looking down at the jingcong torrent under your feet, and touching the hard rock around you, you can imagine how amazing our mother river is for us to open up a wonderland of nine townships. Looking back from the depths of jinghun gorge, a line of sky light slants into the dome, creating a special landscape, which is called "a line of sky" by tourists. In fact, due to the strong backlight effect, the right bank has been cut out of a resolute man's face silhouette. Why does mother river, which chisels away hard rock, want to create an image of a great man here? This is an eternal mystery in the depths of the earth.

It can be said that this is another exquisite and elegant structure created by the mother river of Jiuxiang, which is the ancient river through the cave, with a flash of inspiration in the depth of the earth's crust and a wave of the hand at the same time. Compared with the "gorge" of jinghun gorge, this is in the true sense However, it is not the largest number of karst caves in Jiuxiang, but the river bed type cave body chiseled by ancient rivers through the rock strata. Therefore, it is called ancient river through cave. Compared with jinghun gorge, the former is the main line, and the other is the branch. The former is a towering, gorge long longitudinal, while the latter is an inadvertent horizontal expansion in the multi-dimensional three-dimensional space. The narrow sense of the ancient river through the cave refers to several sections of stone caves on the side wall of jinghun gorge, both ends of which are connected with the underground river. They are respectively 20 to 30 meters higher than the modern riverbed of maitian river. When the mother river continued to cut down the stratum, the main riverbed continued to subside and finally got another way out, the ancient river through the hole seemed to be put on the shelf and left unused. But if there is a flood once in several decades, these caves can still flow through the flood and continue to be carved and developed. This happened once in 1998, the year of the great flood, and it was the only time in the ten years since the opening up of Jiuxiang. This shows that the ancient river hole is not a dead hole, but a living hole. Although it is old, it is as young as our contemporaries. The rock landscape of Guhe cave is unique. Although it is similar to the stalactite in karst cave, its origin and composition are quite different. The stalactite is agglomerated by heaping plastic, but the rock landscape here is carved by the original rock. The stalactite will grow tall and strong with the passage of time, but the stone landscape here is developing in the opposite direction, becoming thinner and thinner. Every day, the new stone muscles and bones exposed for the first time after continuous erosion are displayed. As a result, these rock landscapes, which are milled intermittently by floods, are unique, with thousands of carvings, high and low, thousands of ideas and unique charm. It is fully qualified to remain independent and become a unique landscape unit among the numerous landscape types in Jiuxiang. Please note that on this section of trestle, the left side is the shaft in the cave, and the right side is the underground river.

The ancient poem said: "the hole well contains the clear air, the leakage hole spits the flying wind.". It's just right to describe the scene in front of you. The landscape in front is also called "double bridge across gully", because the top of the whole cave hall is the natural stone bridge that we have talked about earlier.
