Bitan suspension bridge is located in the middle reaches of Xindian River, which is the most representative landscape of Bitan. The suspension bridge is 200 meters long, 150 meters wide on the East and west sides, 3.5 meters wide and 20 meters high.

historical origin

Built in 1937, Bitan suspension bridge was designed by jishoujiang shiding of Taipei state. When it was built, it was designed with the concept of highway bridge. After completion, it can be used by vehicles. After completion, Bitan suspension bridge is not only an important bridge connecting Zhonghe and Xindian, but also a beautiful and unique bridge like Changhong lying on the moon. Because the design of Bitan suspension bridge can only be used for about 20 years, but in the early ancient times, due to the small truck driving to transport materials in the mountains, the service life of Bitan suspension bridge was shorter.

Modern maintenance

Therefore, in order to make the Bitan suspension bridge survive for a long time, Xindian Municipal Office separated the middle walkway of Bitan suspension bridge into two-way footbridge in February 2000, rebuilt and renovated it, restored its original appearance, and completed and put into use on July 22 of the same year.
