Hometown of Xufu in Longkou

Xufu town in Longkou, known as Xuxiang County in ancient times, is the hometown of Xu Fu, the founder of Qin Dynasty. There are some remains of Xufu, such as Huanghe yinggugang site, qimudong, Xumu tomb and so on.

Basic introduction

Xu Fu, a native of Longkou City, was a great navigator in the Qin Dynasty. His eastward journey to Japan more than 2000 years ago left a wonderful story for the historical and cultural exchanges between the two countries. Qimu Island, located in the northwest of Longkou City, is the departure place for its eastward voyage to Japan

At present, Xugong temple is built in Xufu town. It backs on Qianshan, where Emperor Xuan of Han Dynasty worshiped, and faces Laishan, where Yuezhu temple, one of the eight gods of Qi, is located. It covers an area of 6600 square meters. The whole building is composed of four parts: ancestral gate, East and west side hall and main hall, striving to reflect the architectural characteristics and style of Qin Dynasty. Inside the hall, there is a vivid statue of Xu Fu. He holds a bamboo slip in his hand. His eyebrows are slightly wrinkled. His eyes are alert and full of spirit. It seems that he has a strategic mind. On the left is a boy holding a sword, and on the right is a girl holding a medicine gourd. He accompanies him to search for the immortal mountain in the sea and collect the elixir for immortality. People visit the Xugong temple, as if they are back to the Qin Dynasty more than 2000 years ago and feel the social customs of that time.

Xu Fucun

Xu Fu Village in Jinshan Township is the hometown of Xu Fu, the founder of Qin Dynasty. In 219 B.C., the first emperor of Qin visited Ganyu in the East and asked Xu Fu to go to the sea for the elixir. Xu Fu led 3000 boys and girls and many craftsmen and warriors on the voyage, never to return. Later, there was a saying in historical books that Xu Fu was king in plain and Guangze. Today, Xu Fu is revered as a God by the Japanese people. There is Xu Fu Park and Xu Fu's tomb in shinmiyagi, Japan.

In Xufu village, there is a Xufu temple, in which there are statues of Xufu, a cultural relics exhibition room of Xufu's hometown and a stone Gallery of Han Dynasty. On the square in front of Xufu temple, there are steles inscribed with "Xufu village" by Mr. Zhao Puchu and "Xufu hometown" by Mr. Peng Chong. There is a steady stream of visitors from home and abroad.
