Hongdunzi gorge is located in hongdunzi mountain, about 10 kilometers southeast of erebugai Sumu, Alxa Right Banner, 20 kilometers away from ekenhuduge Town, where the banner house is located. It is a tourist attraction.

Hongdunzi gorge, also known as the Mysterious Grand Canyon, is about 10 kilometers long. The main gorge runs north-south, about 4 kilometers. The end of the gorge is divided into Southeast and southwest. It is a "Ya" shaped structure, covered with red and reddish brown wind erosion rocks. The surrounding terrain is very hidden, and it is difficult to find it without the guidance of local herdsmen. There are stone walls on both sides of the canyon, which are said to be relics of the ancient battlefield. The orange red cliffs on both sides of the gorge are towering, steep and precipitous, with a height of tens of meters and a maximum of 70 or 80 meters. Looking from the bottom of the gorge, it looks like a small zigzag crack, so it is called "a line of sky".

Landscape

Local herdsmen graze on the top of the cliff, but they don't meet each other on both sides. Many caves communicate with each other. They are natural nests for wild animals such as rock sheep, mountain pigeon and flying squirrel. The faeces of orange footed flying squirrel are valuable traditional Chinese medicine. In the middle of the canyon, there is a huge stone on the half empty cliff, which looks like a dragon's head and a camel's head. It is honored as a sacred stone by the local people. Five kilometers east of the canyon, the giant cliff of the text tower is more than 100 meters high, which is very steep. Looking down from the top of the cliff, the car is only the size of a matchbox, and there is a huge stone frog at the bottom of the cliff. It opens its mouth to the sky, praying for good weather and well-being of the people. According to the research of travelers, experts and scholars, hongdunzi Canyon is a rare canyon landscape with wind erosion and original stone structure. Coupled with the changeable climate of the desert, it forms a perfect combination of "light and shadow" in the Grand Canyon, which casts a mysterious veil on the Grand Canyon. Compared with the Grand Canyon in Australia, hongdunzi Canyon is not only magnificent but also charming.
