Liuzhou city site

Liuzhou city is located in the southeast of shaziwa natural village, Haicheng Town, Haiyuan County, 2.5km away from Haicheng Town. It was built in Song Dynasty. After the Xixia took Haiyuan area, it was called "dongmuhui" and set up "Tiandu jianjunsi" in the city, where heavy troops were stationed. The city is the original site of today's Haicheng. In 1749, in order to get water conveniently, Wuli was moved to the city (the site of today's Haiyuan county) and Liuzhou city. The present Liuzhou city is rectangular in shape, 1300 meters long and 550 meters wide, with a residual height of 4-7 meters, a base thickness of 7 meters and a residual width of 1-3 meters at the top. The South and north gates are opened to build the city, and the moats outside the city are 8 meters wide. There are a large number of porcelain and pottery pieces scattered on the surface, all of which are the remains of the Song Dynasty. Liuzhou city site is now a key cultural relics protection unit in Ningxia.

The site of Liuzhou city was built in the Song Dynasty. After taking Haiyuan area from Xixia, it was called "dongmuhui". In the city, there was a "Tiandu Jianjun division" to garrison heavy troops. The city is the original site of today's Haicheng. In 1749, the city of Liuzhou was abandoned after Wuli was changed into a city (the site of today's Haiyuan county) for the convenience of getting water.
