Fenghuangshan scenic spot in Jidong county is located 30 kilometers southeast of the city and 44 kilometers away from Jixi City. It is a national AA scenic spot. It is composed of Balingshan reservoir, Pingyang reservoir and Fenghuangshan Forest Park, with a control area of 670 square kilometers. It is a natural scenic spot integrating irrigation, flood control, education base and tourism. In summer, the shady forest is a cool world; in winter, the vast forest sea is a world of ice and snow. There are dozens of animal resources, such as deer, squirrel, Fox and sable, and more than ten kinds of mountain treasures, such as ginseng, Tricholoma matsutake, astragalus, acanthopanax senticosus, etc.

Main scenic spots

1. Balengshan reservoir was built in 1997, which is a national AA scenic spot. The dam is 540 meters long, 25 meters high, with an area of 10.5 square kilometers and a normal maximum water depth of 22.5 meters. The designed water storage capacity is 99.9 million cubic meters. It is a comprehensive water conservancy project with irrigation, flood control, breeding, tourism and other functions. On the East and west sides of the main dam are natural landscapes, steep mountains, covered with red pine, red Yingshan and deciduous trees. Under the dam is a natural park, integrated with the whole dam. The reservoir is like a magnificent gem, inlaid in the mountains. Tourism projects include: Fishing Park, water style park, modern entertainment and exploration Park, rare plant park, etc.

2. Pingyang reservoir is located about three kilometers downstream of Balingshan reservoir. It was built in 1958 and has experienced three large-scale constructions with a capacity of 97.2 million cubic meters. It has the functions of water storage, irrigation, breeding and fishing. Tourism projects include: natural bath, fishing ground, winter ice sports, etc.

3. Fenghuangshan Forest Park is located in the west of Balingshan reservoir, which has many functions, such as forest tour, animal and plant appreciation, camping and hunting, popular science, patriotism education and so on. There are dozens of national and provincial protected animals, such as sika deer, Red Crowned Crane, mandarin duck, flying dragon, pheasant, etc.; there are 18 kinds of medicinal materials, such as ginseng, astragalus, Tricholoma matsutake, Ganoderma lucidum, etc.

Main attractions

1. Crouching Tiger peak: it is a large rocky cliff 740 meters long. It is named for the frequent presence of Siberian tigers in the early days. It grows various shapes of Pinus densiflora and Pinus Juniperus. There are various shapes of rocks, such as eagles waiting to fly, eight commandments watching the moon, fox cave, crouching tiger spring, welcoming pine, stone duck, stone monkey and so on.

2. Tumbler Stone Man: it is a stone pillar more than 10 meters high, which can be moved by strong wind and shaken by strong people, but it can't be pushed down, so it is called "tumbler Stone Man". There are some scenic spots nearby, such as shelter stone, daguanshi, zuoshu Temple, danianpan, rice field site cultivated by predecessors, etc.

3. The ruins of the fortifications of the Japanese army invading China: there are the fortifications, underground fortifications, trenches, anti tank trenches and other fortifications that the Japanese invaders forced the Chinese laborers to build. In the fortifications at the commanding height, you can see the panoramic view of the Sino Russian border and the balongshan reservoir.

4. Forest activity field: it is located in a flat land among green trees and flowers, surrounded by tall and straight poplars, evergreen pines and cypresses, flowers and grass, which is the best place for outdoor activities.

5. Water Park: covering an area of more than 10000 square meters, it has a swimming pool, water slide and diving platform. There are two swimming pools with different water levels. Pure mountain spring water is introduced. The water area is nearly 5000 square meters. Visitors can have swimming competition, bathing, diving performance, water slide and other recreational activities.

6. Water rafting: it's a thrilling water sports event. You and your family or friends take a kayak and drift downstream along the winding river. The water is fast and slow at times.
