Xiaochangtu mountain

Xiaochangtushan is the residence of Changshu town government of Daishan County, Zhejiang Province. In the west, it is opposite to Daishan island by Daishan waterway, 10km away from Gaoting Town, and the Yellow ocean and daiquyang sea areas are in the north and south respectively. The land area is 10.92 square kilometers, the highest point is 299.6 meters above sea level, and the coastline is 25.23 kilometers long.

Xiaochangtu mountain is an irregular rectangle with east-west trend, zigzag coastline, and many bays and beaches.

Tourism resources on the island include chuandeng nunnery, xihezui lighthouse and watching "group of dolphins worship the river". Chuandeng nunnery was built in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. It is well preserved. After being renovated by the masses, it has taken on a new look with elegant environment and fresh air. In the nunnery, there is a plaque named "chuandeng nunnery" by Guo Zhongyue, governor of Zhili hall in dongdinghai in 1900. Xihezui lighthouse was founded by Jin Pinsan in 1871. It was the earliest folk navigation mark in the county. It was rebuilt as a lamp post after liberation. After the mid autumn festival every year, groups of porpoises swarm into the Yellow ocean and daiqu ocean in the north and south of the island and travel back in the coastal area of Changtu island for nearly a month. When the group of porpoises arrive, they climb the top of Tiandeng mountain in xihezui. It is a wonder that the group of porpoises come out of the water from time to time, spewing 2-3 meters high water column.

On xiaochangtu Island, there were residents in the Song Dynasty, belonging to Penglai township of Changguo County; in the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to changtuzhuang of Penglai township of Dinghai county (zhiliding); in the Republic of China, it belonged to changtuzhuang of Dinghai County; in 1949, it belonged to changtuzhuang of Jinzhou county. It was liberated in May 1950 and belonged to Changtu township of Daishan District, Dinghai County; in June 1953, it belonged to Changdong Township and Changxi township of Changshan District, Daishan County; in 1958, it belonged to Changtu commune; in 1984, it belonged to Changtu township; in 1986, it was established as Changtu town. In 2000, there were 4323 households with 10822 residents.
