Guyuan Guandi temple, commonly known as "Laoye Temple", is located outside the north gate of Guyuan County, on both sides of the main passage running through the north and south of Guyuan. On the west side of the road is the gate and courtyard of Guandi temple, on the east side of the road is the Grand Theater of Guandi temple, and the South North Lane passes through the middle. Before the construction of Pingyin highway, Xi'an to Yinchuan all take this big lane, which is the main traffic road to Guyuan north.

The temple covers an area of eight mu, excluding the theater in Ludong. There are many believers in Guandi temple. Every year, on May 13 and September 13 of the lunar calendar, there are two temple fairs of Guandi. They always sing for three to five days. Merchants in the city set up stalls on both sides of Beimen road to do business. People from all walks of life of agriculture, industry and Commerce gathered in shilibixiang to burn incense and make friends at the theatre. On the day of the temple fair, lanterns and decorations are hung at the entrance of the front stage of the mountain gate, and the Dragon flag with triangle edge is hung on the iron flagpole, creating a festive atmosphere. The sounds of fish, chimes, music, play, peddler's Hawking, and children's playing are all in a hustle and bustle.

At ordinary times, Guandi temple is also a pilgrim. Local people are superstitious. When they give birth to a child, they go to Guandi temple to burn incense and watch. After praying devoutly, they pass under the belly of master Guan's Jujube horse, which is called "pass the pass", in order to be lucky and safe. It is said that this can drive away diseases and evil spirits and make children grow up healthily. If there is a patient in his family who is short of money to buy medicine or can't be cured for a long time, he will go to Guandi temple to burn incense, pray, and ask for God's blessing. He will take some clear and cold spring water from the well under the horse's stomach, or wash the affected area, or take medicine, hoping for miraculous effect. Plaques and brocades were hung all over the hall as well as silk cloaks on the statue of Guan Gong. People who drink mash from Mahe go to the spring under the horse's belly to get water. It's cool and refreshing, and business is booming.
