Saige temple is the largest temple of juenong sect of Tibetan Buddhism in Tibet, located in the east of ABA county. Tieqiong village of waerma Township, one kilometer to the east of ABA County, is the largest juennaopai temple in Aba county and the Tibetan area in Northwest Sichuan. The Tibetan opera performance and lighting festival of Saige temple have long been well-known. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (at the end of the 16th century), saiwengbo and gengyan Yundan lezhu of the saisang family of waerma Donggou village traveled far to Tibet. They invited the fifth patriarch of the Jue Nang sect, daronata, as their teacher, to practice Jue Nang Buddhism with an open mind. They were given many times by the master. After returning home, they followed the master's instructions to spread Buddhism in Aba, and in the 28th year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1600 AD), they lived in Donggou, waerma township Village guoerwa founded the earliest Jiaonang guoerwa temple in the county, also known as saisang temple or old Saige temple. When saixiangqu Lama presided over the temple, he used his extensive knowledge and eloquent eloquence to promote juenong Buddhism, and the temple was very prosperous for a time. At the end of Wanli (early 17th century), gengga and Sangji went to luoerda Township, ABA county to worship zhuoge temple. Gengga waler, the first generation, let Lama as the fundamental master to study classics. In 1613, the second Lama established Kuang Ersang temple, also known as Xuezhu dadanlun, in waerma township. When he was forced by gengga Danba, many monks in Si Tu and other temples admired him for his knowledge He went to Saige temple to learn Dharma and Sutra.

Revitalization

In order to revitalize juenong Buddhism and enhance the strength of the temple, through the negotiation between saisang Lama and kanersang Lama, and with the approval of gengyan danjiamucuo, the living Buddha of zhuoge temple, guoerwa temple and kanersang temple were merged in the first year of Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1862 A.D.). Gengyan danjiamucuo, zhuoge temple, came to the temple to lay the foundation and expanded into Saige temple in tieqiong, waerma township. In the early years of the Republic of China (the early 20th century), the warlord Ma Bufang's troops plundered the asijiong tribe in Guoluo Prefecture of Qinghai Province, and they committed all kinds of crimes. The people of the asijiong tribe could not bear to be trampled and fled to today's zangtang county. Saisangkan Ersang Lama of Saige temple came forward to mediate and saved the tribe, so that the life of the tribe could not be burned; the local officials of asjiong tribe asked Saige temple to be the fundamental master temple in return for their salvation.

Support the government

In August 1951, Zhang Xiangshan, the Commissioner of Mao County of the Communist Party of China, led a delegation to ABA county and stationed in Saige temple. He reached an agreement on the peaceful liberation of ABA with waer Gongchen lie, the local governor of maisang. On September 11 of the same year, the ABA Office of the temporary military and political Commission of four tuba chuoshijia was established. On December 22, the people's Government of Aba Tibetan Autonomous Region, which is equivalent to the county, was established in Saige temple To the temple's strong support and cooperation. By the eve of the democratic reform in 1958, the temple had gone through 14 generations of living Buddhas, with nearly 400 monks, including one in Kanbu, seven Living Buddhas and three in gexi.

In August 1982, Saige temple was reopened as a religious activity site. The Sutra hall, Zen hall, Yihu hall, zhuanjing corridor and monk's room were renovated. The golden roof, pagoda and large Sutra Hall of the temple are resplendent with unique national characteristics. The Thangka, sculptures and murals in the temple are unique. On the broad land beside the temple, two huge mani piles are decorated with prayer flags, which are very spectacular. On the night of the Lantern Festival, the colored lights are shining high and the butter flowers are beautiful. The Tibetan Opera of Saige temple is even more famous in the Tibetan area. When the morang festival was held and the monasteries were holding grand God dancing and Sutra chanting activities, there were scenes of famous Tibetan Opera such as Princess Wencheng's going to Tibet, zhimeigengdun, Milarepa and Songzanganbu. The monks and people of the temple were immersed in another peaceful and warm atmosphere.
