Kalonggou

Kalonggou, known as xiaojiuzhai, is located in maizha township of Heishui county at the intersection of Minshan mountains and Qionglai mountains, with a total area of 403 square kilometers and an average altitude of 3544 meters. It is 310 kilometers away from Chengdu and 70 kilometers away from Heishui county. The Tibetan pronunciation of "Kalong" is "karolo". Kalong means "Hua" in Tibetan, which means "Hua Haigou" in Chinese. It is composed of changlonggou, Shili Cailin, shuishuigou, Dagu snow mountain and other scenic spots. The highest altitude in the ditch is 4600m, with an area of 18.8 square kilometers.

There is a legend about the origin of kalonggou: a long time ago, three fairies landed in the mortal world. Because they were reluctant to leave because of the beautiful scenery of the mortal world, the elder sister and the second sister incarnated into Jiuzhai and Huanglong, and the younger sister incarnated into Kalong. The God of heaven, like the common people in the mortal world, doted on the youngest child. Therefore, Kalong gathered the charm of Jiuzhai and the dream of Huanglong.

Kalong Valley is beautiful, fresh and primitive. From low altitude to high altitude, there are mossy landforms, calcified waterfalls, primeval forests and stone forests. Calcified waterfalls are the most distinctive. Its scale is better than Huanglong, and its style is different. In autumn, the red leaves and colorful forest make the scenery charming. 　

Landscape features

Kalonggou is characterized by its unique travertine landscape, which combines colorful forest, alpine stone forest, natural karst cave, virgin forest, canyon landscape, snow mountain and other rich and colorful natural landscape. As the holy land of local Tibetans, the plant community of kalonggou has never been damaged and the ecological environment is excellent. In the whole ditch, the stream is murmuring, forming a number of color pools with different shapes and exquisite structures. Water moistens all things, making the air humidity in the ditch very high, dense clouds, drizzle, and cold air. Water nurtures trees, trees shade mosses, and mosses keep moist. The balanced ecological environment makes travertine develop better.

The scenic area belongs to the monsoon plateau climate zone, with distinct dry and rainy seasons, sufficient sunshine, small annual temperature difference and large daily difference. The annual average temperature difference between mountain and valley is 20.10 ℃. The annual average temperature of the county is 9 ℃, the annual extreme maximum temperature is 33.5 ℃, and the minimum extreme temperature is - 14.4 ℃. The rainfall is unevenly distributed, concentrated in summer and rainy in autumn, with an average annual precipitation of 620.6 mm. The average frost free period is 166 days. The scenic area is composed of four parts: kalonggou, zengjilaogou, kalongshilin and alpine lakes. Together with the scenery of caigai village between the two ditches, it forms a fan-shaped scenic area. Kalonggou is the center of the scenic area.

The plants in the scenic spot are mainly Gramineae and sedge plants on the sunny slope. In early summer and autumn, the grass sea is green and colorful, while in late autumn, it is red, yellow and green. In kalonggou, the sponge like green moss carpet and the curtain like hanging branches of green pines are unique, while the "two in one" and "three in one" trees such as arboreal trees, LIANLI trees and parasitic trees can be found in kalonggou.

Hundreds of colorful pools with different sizes, different shapes and exquisite structures in the left branch of kalonggou make people feel like fairyland scenery; the stone forest stretching for tens of miles is magnificent; the spring waterfall with large drop, steep waterfall and group appearance is more attractive than Jiuzhai Huanglong waterfall; in addition, scenic spots such as feicuijinpo and travertine grottoes are also unique.

The main scenic spots are: Tibetan customs, dense forest Canyon, travertine color pool, Xianchi bonsai, virgin forest, alpine stone forest, travertine waterfall, moss color pool slope, Shenshui gold slope, travertine cave, etc.

Admission: 60 yuan / person

Transportation: self driving (small car displacement 1. 6) it takes about 5-6 hours to start from Chengdu West gate, and the road condition is good.

Accommodation: the hotels in the county and scenic area are of low grade. Most of the hotels do not have standard rooms with independent toilets, and most of them are rooms for more than three people. The total number of residents in the county is about 500, and the number of residents in kalonggou scenic area is about 400.
