Wuzhen is divided into four ancient blocks along four directions of water system, which are called dongzha, xizha, nanzha and Beizha.
Dongzha was first developed and reconstructed in 2001, followed by xizha in 2003. However, nanzha and Beizha have not been formally developed and remain their original appearance.
Nanzha is the last undeveloped area in Wuzhen. The old houses, buildings, streets and bridges in nanzha are still the original appearance. It's a perfect place for photographers. In the simple narrow alleys, there are old houses and shops with wooden doors. Most of the people who live here are local people.
