Introduction of maoerling ancient tombs

Yuci city is located in the east of maoerling. Ancient tombs are densely distributed in the range of 2700 meters long from north to South and 1500 meters wide from east to west. This group of ancient tombs faithfully records the social development history of Yuci area in the past two thousand years. Over the years, more than 600 historical tombs of the spring and Autumn period, Warring States period, Qin, Han, Tang and Song dynasties have been unearthed in maoerling, and more than 5000 cultural relics have been unearthed, most of which were in the Warring States period. Most of the Warring States tombs in this area are in the form of earthen pits. The foundation pits are relatively deep, four or five meters deep, and eight or nine meters deep. These burial utensils and coffins are decayed, and the burial objects unearthed are rich, including pottery, bronze, jade, stone and so on.

In 2014, Jinzhong City issued the cultural relics protection planning project of maoerling tombs of Jinzhong Cultural Relics Bureau to protect this precious relic. However, in the past two years, urban construction is gradually eroding this provincial cultural security unit, and its situation is in danger.
