Wenxingqiao

Wenxing bridge, located in Kengbian village, Xiaocun Town, Taishun County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, crosses Yuxi River. The whole bridge is 40.2 meters long, 5 meters wide, 29.6 meters single hole net collapse, and 11.5 meters above the water surface. It is a laminated timber arch bridge.

At about 13:20 on September 15, 2016, the rainstorm caused by typhoon moranti was seriously affecting southern Zhejiang. The Langqiao Wenxing bridge in Xiaocun Town, Taishun County was destroyed by floods.

brief introduction

The bridge was built in 1857 and rebuilt in 1930. Wenxing bridge is one of the best preserved bridges in Taishun area. It was listed in the third batch of cultural relics protection units in 1998.

The structure of Xingqiao is very peculiar, and the asymmetric structure of left and right makes it pay more attention in many bridges in Taishun. It is said that when the bridge was built, master BAMO was from Jinhua. He brought a local apprentice named Nanwei. When building the bridge, the apprentice was afraid that the end he was responsible for was not firm, so he added a few baskets of iron nails, so the bridge body tilted to the direction of less iron nails.

Another legend says that when the bridge was built, two masters were invited to build it from both sides. The two masters held their own opinions on the bridge construction plan and did not give in to each other. When it reached the middle, it was found that the heights of the two sides were not the same. At this time, it was too late to dismantle and rebuild, so it had to close the Dragon obliquely. Which of the two stories is true or false, or both of them are people's imagination. Now it is not known. Only the stream running under the bridge can know the mystery!
