Liu Xie's former residence is in Dinglin temple, fulaishan, Ju county, Shandong Province. Dinglin temple, according to legend, was built in the northern and Southern Dynasties, and the existing building was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. The main buildings are the Great Buddha Hall, three churches, school building, etc. The original name of the school classics building is Pilu Pavilion. It is said that it is the place where Liu Xie collates the classics.

Life experience

Liu Xie (465-532) was born in Ju county, Shandong Province. He was devoted to learning. When Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty was in power, he served as an official in the East Palace, and was respected by Xiao Tong, the prince of Zhaoming. In his later years, he became a monk in Dinglin temple and was named Huidi. There is a huge stone in front of the temple, engraved with the word "Xiangshan tree" and inscribed with the title of "hermit wise land", which is said to be written by Liu Xie. His book Wen Xin Diao Long is a famous literary theory work in ancient China.

Historical records

According to the Southern History: "the scripture collection of Dinglin temple is determined by Xie. This building is where Liu Xie collected books. Liu Xie spent his spare time in the morning and evening studying scriptures until his death. It is not only handed down from generation to generation, but also can be proved by data. According to the biography of eminent monks: "in the Sui Dynasty, Renshou was in the middle of his life, and Tan Guan sent the relics to Dinglin temple in this prefecture (Ju prefecture) There are such discussions in Qing Zhou Fu Zhi of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty and Ju Zhou Zhi of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty. Unfortunately, talin was destroyed by the great earthquake in 1668. Later generations mourned and chanted the cliff: "the iron Buddha sympathized with Ju and returned to the local government, while the Yan He stele was broken and abandoned." At that time, fo Cheng, the last monk in charge of Dinglin temple, died around 1942. When he was alive, he was repeatedly instructed that the site of his tomb tower was in the west of the temple. Every year, on the Tomb Sweeping Day and the "Buddha Bathing Festival" (the eighth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar), the Buddha assembly goes to the site to do Buddhist work to commemorate it.
