Yong'an Confucian Temple

Yong'an Confucian temple is located in the center of Yong'an City. It is the only wooden building of Ming Dynasty in Yong'an City. The Confucian temple was built in 1455, rebuilt in 1503 and repaired in 1593.

Now only the main building Dacheng hall, facing south, has three rooms wide and four rooms deep, covering an area of 307 square meters. Dacheng hall is a hilltop type civil structure with double eaves. The beams are simple, and the wooden ornaments between the double eaves are Ruyi Dougong and elephant trunk. The span of open space is 8m, and mortise tenon connection is reasonably adopted. There are many kinds of stone plinths in the hall, such as drum mirror type, walking basin type, etc., carved with lotus pattern, dragon pattern and Ruyi cloud pattern. There is a platform in front of the hall, and between the two steps is a stone carving dragon with vivid shape and distinct scales and claws.

In 1985, the Dacheng Hall of Yong'an Confucian temple was repaired with special funds at provincial and municipal levels.
